We're back this week with a thoughtful guest mix by writer Shawn Cremer, aka @scremes, who offers the following words to all who press play:

"Pause before we begin. Take a deep inhale. Yes, you. Come here. Venez. Open your senses to the music of Incense Incognita. She begins with top notes of muscatel and vetiver, do you smell that? It blooms.

In the middle comes rain-soaked moss and smooth black stones. Close and damp and muddy sweet. It seeps. It sings. Then, rolling through to drier ground, where kopal smoke drifts through the eucalyptus trees at night. Perhaps we’ll go in for a drink.

Come back for another inhale. The base notes. The anchors that linger. Follow your nose into the depth of the music. The hinoki cedar and the night blooming cereus float over the sweet steam of oolong. Exhale."

Harken! For @maxsalty has returned with his annual winter mix, just in time for the holidays. Mezzanotte is Italian for midnight, and indeed this mix is the moodiest entry in the Italian quartet, to be uncorked at that hour of the night when your quietest desires find their loudest voice. Press play for vintage Italian ballads, velvety vocal jazz, and cozy, eerie strings from 1959–1974. Note: Our house sommelier recommends pairing with a Chanti Classico, solitude, cold night winds, and a single candle.
