Mmm-K!

The new BTS single and video is out!! I have feelings!! Do you??? Talk to me about it. How its possible to hold love and loathing in one heart: A discussion. You guys ready for this?

AUGUST IS ALMOST DONE Y'ALL. 참나! HOW IS THAT EVEN REAL. There dramas about to come out and a comeback just about to blow up the internet to smithereens and it is FUELLING MY FANGIRL HEART. Mara is here again to get our Fangirl Unnie hats on, soooo LEZZGEDDIT!!!

Some of my favorite phrases and words in korean arent easy to explain, but once you get them, you GET THEM. Like, on a level of getting something that's jut higher than what you expect. Did that even make sense? Scenes taken from some dramas I really really loved (Cheese in the Trap wasnt a bad drama, I swear), and we break down some vocabulary/grammar concepts as well. Do you have fave lines from dramas? Let me know!!

"덕후" /deok-hu/ is a term derived from the Japanese term "Otaku" (おたく) referring to someone who is obsessed with something. Now to be referred to as such before sometimes implied a little bit of condescension. But times have changed, and fans of all shapes & colors have found a variety of things while showing their favorites their love-- comfort, sisterhood (or brotherhood), friendships, empty wallets and what-not. On this week's episode of Mmm-K!, we talk to Mara, a Mindfulness Consultant (among many other brilliant things),my friend, student and fangirl (ofc) about the many aspects of being a fan. Including entry points, how we cope, and many others!

Its Vocabulary time! In this bonus Episode, I explain a few lines from Kdramas that are pretty commonly heard. Its just a few of 'em but next time, have a go at using them! To see more detailed explanations about them, check my instagram stories and highlights here --> @gray.sue.sam

Or is it really episode 0.5? Like a true clutz, here I am Grace Ssaem, stumbling into my first episode where I discuss (almost as if in an attempt to make myself hungry) korean dramas and food. Oh, and I kinda introduce myself along the way too. So why are koreans always eating at those tents? Or at a sandwich place? Or a chicken place? What do you think? If you've got some thoughts on why korean dramas make me so hungry, or if you have your go-to korean snack, I wanna hear them!

If you're following me on instagram, you know my favorite things to post are words and phrases in korean that are close to me heart. But being a fangirl who's life of following korean music, dramas, and movies has done so much more for me as im sure it has for you! So come and listen as i discuss almost everything and anything under the sun about Korean culture, from the eyes of a fangirl. And maybe even learn some Korean along the way. 시작할까요?
