I build onto my sermon of 1 Timothy 5:17-18 with this, bringing some balance. It’s important that ministers call to mind why they do what they do. Are we willing to freely give, or do we require someone give to us first?
Phillip goes down to Samaria to share the gospel with them. The Samaritans are addressed in this sermon, along with a link to an earlier portion in the book of Acts. Great joy is had when the gospel is proclaimed!
Some pastors have abused congregants in regards to money and finances, but does that mean good pastors shouldn’t be given to? I begin a mini-series here about paid ministers.

Paul gives some reasons as to why younger widows should not be put on the official support list to be taken care of by their local assembly. The enemy can sneak into a person’s life through just a crack. Don’t give him an inch or he will take a mile.
Have we lost the Gospel message? What did Yeshua teach about the Gospel? Listen to learn about just how important the actual, literal Kingdom of the Almighty is.
I talk about the specific qualifiers a widow must meet in order to be put on a list (formal) by her local fellowship for material support.
We begin a small mini-series about widows here, based on verses 3-16 of chapter 5. I focus on the need for children to take care of older parents, and how you don’t have to say “I deny the faith” in order to deny the faith.
Paul reminds Timothy that the congregation is a household. I take the time to look at the emphasis on honoring and respecting our parents. Towards the end I give three answers to varying situations in parent-to-child relationships.
Paul spent so much time instructing Timothy, because it mattered for his salvation, as well as the salvation of his hearers. You can live a righteous life, if you truly desire to.
