这期我们要聊的是和心血管疾病 cardiovascular disease 仅有"一字"之差的脑血管疾病 cerebrovascular disease~

脑血管疾病中最具代表性的就是脑卒中 cerebrovascular accident (CVA)了。患者通常称之为stroke中风, 但因为CVA全称比较拗口, 医护之间也常stroke。Cerebrovascular accident 则基本只出现在书面医学英语。我们今天就来说说不同类型的脑卒中 (different types of CVA) ~

1.Ischaemic stroke "缺血性卒中"

[ischaemic/ischaemia] "组织中供血不足"的定义为——

"A restriction in blood supply to tissue."

2.Haemorrhagic stroke "出血性卒中"

其中, haemorrhagic的名词形式为 haemorrhage,其前缀haem- 代表"血液"。

衍生词汇:

"血液科医生" haematologist

3.Transient ischaemic attack "短暂性脑缺血发作"(缩写TIA), 通常症状持续时间不少过24小时:

"Symptoms fully resolved within24 hours in the case of TIA."
