Caitlin Webster and the team from Pittsville Ford are back for Part 2 to talk about how they pick mobile techs, win fleet business, and keep saying yes to customers.
In this episode:
• Why techs who are thorough but slow on flat rate often do great in mobile
• How clear routing keeps mobile techs moving from one stop to the next
• Why mobile techs need business cards: curious neighbors walk up almost every day
• How fleet work with mixed brands can turn into new Ford sales, even handling another brand's recalls through a sister store
• How a free business alliance, with service and purchase discounts for member companies' employees, grows both fleet and retail
• Why the answer to the customer is always yes
Best story: one tech serviced a truck on a farm while free-range goats kept nudging him to be petted. The team also did a mobile job on an island you can only reach by a half-hour ferry.

Michelle joins the show to talk about mobile service from the customer's side, and how networking helped a mobile program grow its fleet and commercial business.
In this episode:
• Why customers love watching the work happen in their own driveway, and talking straight to the technician
• Why networking is a marathon, not a sprint: plan on 6 months to a year before the first good leads come in
• "Givers gain": help others first and the referrals come back to you
• How sponsoring a chamber or builders' association lunch can put you in front of 100 to 200 people for a small cost
• Why a mobile van in a driveway works like a free billboard and brings in owners of other car brands
The best story: watching a 7-van program grow to 47 vans in under three years, with a chart full of little vans to keep track.

Did your mobile service program start strong and then slow down? This week, Jeremy goes solo with five back-to-basics moves to get it rolling again.
In this episode:
- Check your appointment list a week out. Move jobs that don't need a lift, like easy recalls and special-order parts, to mobile.
- Listen to BDC and advisor calls. Coach the word tracks so mobile gets offered first, every time.
- Get in front of sales. Join a morning huddle at least once a week and pitch mobile to fleet and commercial customers.
- Check the special-order parts shelf every week. Call those customers and offer to install at their home or work.
- Call customers with open recalls. Start with the easiest ones you can do mobile.
The best part: dealers who review calls and coach their teams often see results the same day or the next.

Jeremy sits down with Kyle, a mobile service team lead at Bozard Ford, to talk about what really happens when the shop comes to the customer's driveway.
In this episode:
• How new techs get trained: ride along with a team lead, shadow the first few days, then take the wheel with the lead close by. It takes a couple of weeks to two months.
• Customer skills take reps. Every tech has to find their own voice.
• About 10% of customers watch you work. Some lean into the engine bay, and some even sit in the passenger seat to read the shop manual with you.
• Free leads in the driveway: neighbors walk up a couple of times a week to ask if you can service their car too.
• Repeat customers ask for the same tech, and that trust helps the whole dealership.
Kyle also shares the story of a car that sat dead in a customer's yard for two months. He had it running within an hour.
