Welcome to Episode 89 of The Modelgeeks Podcast!  In this episode, we kick off with what we are all in work on, what new items are out there, and what we have picked up lately. El-Presidenté will tell us “What’s New in 72!”, some cool stuff coming out of the recent All Japan Model and Hobby Show, and we’ll end with a discussion on aftermarket kit items…what’s Good, what’s Bad, and what’s just Ugly! In between we have an interview with Hypersonic Models own Jeffrey Kubiak, coming to us all the way from Nara, Japan to tell us all about his company, his products, what drives his creativity, and where the aftermarket resin scene is going in the wake of 3D printing.

 In this episode, the Modelgeeks take the listeners for a lap in the pattern and Frilldo assumes the Lead for this episode and leads the geeks as they discuss what new items they have picked up.  D-Ran is back in the saddle and has assumed the “Boss” position with the geeks. The geeks give D-Ran the “business” and task him with a few episodes, only to be out witted by the Boss.  The Geeks brief the listeners on what new kits are hitting the streets in the future. The Geeks hit the road and hit up the IPMS Roanoke Valley’s “Virginia Shootout” show.

Nothing beats a quick weekend trip with your modeling buddies, especially when a show is happening, the kit deals are HOT and the Mexican food is muy bueno! Toss in a few beers with friends and it’s practically impossible to top for a real Modelgeek!

In this episode we recap our trip to southwestern Virginia and the Virginia Shootout. We had a great time, saw some great models and made some awesome deals on kits that we’d each been looking for. We sit down with show Co-Chair Greg Clower and he gives us a history of the show and the club.
 
 D-ran is still MIA so we play shorthanded once again…anyone wanna take that 5th seat???
