Another meditation exploring the idea of the mystery. The limits of our conceptual knowledge, how this limit is immediately obvious and all encompassing - say when one contemplates how they “know” how to do a basic motor act, or a shift of attention. Such actions do not reveal easily articulated explanations, the organism simply knows on a primordial and non-propositional level how to move in such a way. Science has of course garnered an impressive resolution on the objective characteristics of processes in attention and motor action - what I am trying to draw attention to is the subjective, that is, how is it that we as organisms experience internally such processes.

I suppose the mystery reveals itself upon contemplation of the nature of novelty, change and process. Novelty that is immediate and intrinsic in the ever-changing present - the “present” being this limitless convergence point between past and future- how past bleeds into future as process. This of course is more consisely elucidated in Alfred North Whitehead’s process philosophy, which I’m currently trying to immerse myself in!
