IN this episode we look at worldwide magic circle building traditions, and, how the animist traditions relate to the cosmic egg, the axis mundi and the world tree.
(with instructions on what all the component parts of a circle mean).
Dualism, Social Conviviality, libation, narcotics!
How American Animisms came into being and how they differ from other models.
In the last few episodes, we have been looking at Western Animism, Analogism, daughter culture, duality and triadic animisms.
This is our opportunity to compare this to Animisms that are occurring in Asia, specifically, dharmic animism, community animisms (people who live with leopards, take tigers as their grandfathers),
We compare antagonistic dualisms to homogenous animisms, the creation of cosmic order, and how this order flows through the landscape to create personhood (rather than relying on analogisms sense of otherness).
In this podcast we cover dragons, fire rituals and the rites of passage found in northern forms of Animism between Scandinavia to Siberia
So, how does Nordic, Scandi or Siberian Animism differ from the Indo-European forms anyway?
Firstly, it's had more contact with Shamanism, leading from duality to triadic relationships.
Secondly, the personhood is darker, less related to daughter culture, due to the climate.
Thirdly, the management of the landscape has changed, meaning that these people have a different relationship to the environment when compared to hunter-gatherers, or a pastoral community.
in this episode we turn away from the Indo-European version of animism and start to look at how animism spread from Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan towards the Baltic area.
this podcast looks at the mythology of the tree of life and the cosmic egg, these might be universal themes across many animistic groups, but Baltic animism makes them hang slightly differently.
this is a podcast about how space, and a multi-dimensional reality compares to ingratiation with a goddess.
In this episode we look again at dualism, in this instance how western dualism helps create daughter culture, where personhood, humanity and divinity are in relationships with each other (and how this becomes expressed as mother earth, sky father etc.)
Other dualities also exist, these are based up homeostasis (sometimes known as the divine twins), but in which humanity doesn't automatically become adopted in a familial manner or join a hero's pathway.
In this episode, we look at Paleolithic European Animism and its dualism.
as mentioned in our episode on Animacy, European gender nouns are the remnants of an older Animism that once existed in our society.
but how does this older Animism hold up against our modern beliefs.
How has shamanism helped to alter Duality in the west
What is the difference between a dualistic and tertiary system (looking at alternative realms)
where in the world do we find Dualism?
In this episode, we look at European Paleolithic Animism,
How language conventions inform our understanding about the type of Animism that was practiced in the past.
The creation of duality and the goddess culture.
In this episode, we look at how new Animism came to be invented, the difference between old animism and new animism, the fall of the Soviet block, anti-imperialist sentiment, self-help.
the loss of belief in spirit forms and the growth of belief in a central universal force.
the end of psychic skills and the belief in integration through empathy.
