Jörgen Klußmann met Olga Ursu at the city hall of Chisinau during a stay in Moldova. He talked with her about the economic challenges after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the importance of the capital for the country’s economy. The invasion brought thousands of refugees into the city. This caused an increase of prices for accommodation together with many other problems. Olga Ursu describes what it means to be the capital of a frontline state between East and West.

On the 20th of October 2024 there are going to be presidential elections. Further a referendum is going to be held where Moldovans shall decide whether they want be a member of the European Union.
