Taking traditions from their childhoods and creating new ones. Cutting down trees from a tree farm, baking family recipes, and Santa pics with inked in footprints in the shape of a heart are among some of the traditions they look forward to and made their own.As important as the traditions are, they both want to work on giving back and keeping the spirit and meaning of the holidays alive. Morgen and Trisha especially want to make sure they are instilling that in their girls, now that they are older and understand more. Mom guilt is weighing heavy on Morgen and Trisha this week. They’ve been struggling with juggling the many roles they play in their lives while also trying to navigate the newfound tantrums that have emerged in their little independent ladies. Are we doing enough for our kids? Are we providing enough stimulation and activities? The constant questioning of our parenting abilities can send us deep into the tunnel of mom guilt.
Breakdowns lead to breakthroughs, and us moms (dads, and really everyone), must take care of ourselves first! If we’re going to be who we need to be for ourselves, our children, spouse, family, employer/employee, and friends, we need to dedicate a certain amount of time to just us.
You are enough! So pick your head up, brush the mom guilt away and make time for you! Everyone will benefit from it.
