This week on Moments that Matter we speak with a dear friend and colleague Dr. Jonathan Sircy about his spiritual journey and wrestling with deeper elements of the Christian faith. Many who grew up in the Christian faith reach a point where the beliefs must become their own. Likewise, Dr. Sircy had such a moment that required a radical response and significant decisions. As we are all on our own spiritual journeys and seek our own personal reformations, he provides some great wisdom in our relationships with Christ. To hear more from Dr. Sircy, be sure to check in next week with part two of our interview and you can also find him over at Perry Pod, his own podcast, based on the timeless TV show Perry Mason.
This week we pick back up with part two of our interview with Dr. Christina Sinisi, Professor, and Chair of the Psychology Department at Charleston Southern University. She has been at CSU for 25 years and is married to Kyle Sinisi, a professor at The Citadel; and she has two grown children. Christina and Paul met at a recent Christian writers conference, and we thought it would be interesting to talk with her about how she became a professor and author, including the moments that matter and have directed her life.
Be sure to follow Dr. Sinisi, and her current projects, on her website, Facebook, blog, or Twitter!

Recently, through some casual conversation, we discovered that several interested individuals and parties around Southern Wesleyan University were also podcasters. Their areas of focus were so intriguing that we thought it would be exciting to bring them all together to not only discuss their podcast subjects but also their inspiration and thoughts on sharing through this popular medium.

This week we are jumping back into the interview with the co-host of this podcast, Paul Shotsberger, for part two of the important role of storytelling. He has had two books published, including the Moments that Matter companion book, and he is currently completing his third book. All of his writing is nonfiction. Fiction writers are well aware that storytelling is the essence of what they do. However, whether we are writing fiction or non-fiction, even academic writing, Paul believes that if we are not concerned about effective storytelling we are missing out on a difference-maker for our audience and therefore a key to success for our writing. He is currently preparing a course for Clemson’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on the subject, which he will teach in June.

On this episode of Moments that Matter, we jump back in for part two of last week’s presentation by Dr. Ken Badley. This past Fall Semester, Southern Wesleyan University hosted its first virtual Faith Integration in the Academy conference with Dr. Badley as the keynote speaker. He has graciously allowed us to use his presentation in this forum and his message that includes both the integration of faith and learning as well as the integration of faith and living.

We are pleased to be joined today by Mike Reznik, President of Transforming Nations, a missions organization based in Sacramento, California. Mike hails from western Ukraine where he and Paul met a little over 15 years ago. From there, he founded missions and Bible schools in two locations in Kyrgyzstan, then Kenya where he lived for a time. Now he lives in Jordan where Transforming Nations has a large work in both the capital Amman and in northern Jordan near the Syrian border. You can learn more about Transforming Nations at their website or on Facebook; there you can keep up with the ministry's latest news and support the work that Mike is doing abroad.
