🏛️ In the entire Gospel record, only two things ever make Jesus marvel.
One is unbelief — in His own hometown, among the people who knew Him best.
The other is a Roman soldier.
No covenant. No Scriptures. No temple. No theological training. An officer of the power occupying Israel walks up to a Jewish rabbi, and what comes out of his mouth stops the Son of God in His tracks.
Not his piety. Not his theology. His understanding of authority.
⚔️ Because the centurion grasped what Israel — with all its prophets and promises — had missed: Jesus doesn't need to be in the room. A command carries the throne it was issued from. Monon eipe logō. Only speak a word.
📖 This message walks Matthew 8:5–13 and Luke 7:1–10 through the Greek that carries it — hekatontarchos, hikanos, hypo exousian, ethaumasen — and asks a question that may rearrange how you pray:
Have you been asking Him to come, when you should be asking Him to speak?
🕊️ And for the one who has prayed exactly that way for years with nothing to show for it — that's addressed too. Paul asked three times and got a no with grace attached. This isn't a formula. It's a certainty about who is speaking.
⬇️ Listen now. Then share it with the person you know who's been waiting at a hospital bedside for God to show up.
💬 What are you asking Him to speak over? Tell us in the comments.
🕊️ Remember, God loves you, and so do we! ❤️🔥
