Jesus of Nazareth was not the Messiah that the Jewish people were hoping for or expecting. Jesus the Christ came as a meek humble Savior, a suffering Messiah who came to earth to make room for us at his banqueting table to serve us and offer us the gift of salvation and the redemption of our souls through the perfect sacrifice on the cross which would release us from the captivity of our enemy, sin and death and transfer us into rest in the kingdom of God.

If people outside of Christianity believe in a God at all, the large majority of them believe that this God – however he, she, or it may be understood – is a loving being and that God loves everyone and it is this, that causes a problem when Christians tell people that God, is a God of love.

The Bible tells us so much about God, it's even been described as Gods love letter to us and yet the Old Testament alone has some 842 references of God's emotions and from that the most common one is anger and wrath. Could it be that God has emotions just like humans do and if so does that mean it depends on how He is feeling each day.

Not much is shown in the bible about this man Joseph but have you ever considered what kind of man God would choose to raise his son, what kind of man would be best suited to not just fulfill prophesy but lead his adopted son to his real heavenly Father.

The book of Micah tells us that our response to to our good God is to do what's right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus shows us how we are to love our neighbour and also who our neighbour is.

The goodness of God is something that the whole world experiences just because God is good, it's His goodness and grace that holds back the fullness of evil over the world and in Psalm 23 David writes surely Gods goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our life.

Many of us have at some time heard someone say - Why doesn't God just take away the pain, the suffering, the evil especially against innocents. It can be a difficult question to look at however the bible shows us the story of Job a man who God said was was righteous and yet suffering still came his way. This was in contrast to the belief of Retribution which Job and his friends believed in.

We all desire success in some way or another and usually the main reason most people want to be successful is to have a good and happy life, but when things don't work the way we want or perceive we often as believers think God where are you? God’s idea of success and our cultures idea of success can often be far apart, and Gods will for our lives may be totally different for what we want for our lives. The more we know and understand the intrinsic glory, holiness and goodness of the God of the bible the less we will be disappointed by the god of our imagination the one we think He is.

If God is good why do bad things happens has been a question no doubt we all have asked at some time or another. To understand this we need to look at how do we justify a good God in an evil world, this is called Theodicy. When we look at God revealing himself to Moses at the burning bush we see a Theophany and to understand God in an evil and suffering world we often think Theodicy but we really need Theophany - God revealed and with us.

Did you know most Christians believe the phrase "God helps those who help themselves" is in the bible, but it's not. We all live in a world where the value we place on what is good is based on our own ideology. Jesus was confronted by a man who asked him what he had to do to be good and Jesus responds with the words "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God."
