Potty Training Wins, Real Self-Care, and Our Random Favorites
We jump back in after some microphone issues and end up talking about how overwhelming it feels that everything is becoming AI, and how scary that is when we think about our kids’ future. From there we detour into Daniel Tiger songs and a big parenting win: Marley’s potty training is going surprisingly smoothly. Then we return to our deeper questionnaire, reflecting on who we are outside of motherhood, how work used to be our identity, and how we’re slowly reclaiming freedom and fun again. We also talk about unlearning diet culture in dietetics training, what self-care actually looks like on hard weeks (showers, routines, alone time), and wrap with random questions like scent profiles, coffee orders, childhood dream jobs, and comfort snacks like Annie’s mac and cheese and cereal.

Meet the Moms Behind “Mommy Needs a Snack” (and Our Car Full of Leaves)
In our first official episode, we introduce ourselves and use a questionnaire (courtesy of Claude) to get to know each other while we talk real-life motherhood: the ridiculous stuff living in our cars (hello, dried leaves and an empty tissue box), the parenting “rules” we’ve loosened (screen time), and the kids’ shows we’ve ended up navigating (PBS favorites, Spidey, Lucas the Spider, Puffin Rock, and the stuff we try to avoid). We share what surprised us most after becoming moms—feeling less anxious than expected and realizing we don’t love being stay-at-home parents—plus the guilt and cultural pressure around working vs. staying home. We also dig into postpartum body image, food, and how our professional lens helps, then end with what we’d do with a guilt-free hour alone (coloring or reading) and promise a part two plus a listener segment.
