Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi, Pastor Bob here. Welcome back to the Men of Valor podcast. The verse for today is from 2 Timothy chapter 1, verse 9. And it states, “He has saved us and called us to a holy life - not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,...”
Any day now, the local fire truck will drive by our houses with Santa Claus announcing that Christmas is coming. When you look closely at the truck, the red paint, and all the chrome, and the tires shine as if they're brand new. Sometimes in the parades, the shining trucks even have people throwing candy for the parade spectators, with the fire sirens blaring or playing Christmas music as they go by. They absolutely look great and cause excitement as they buzz by. But in a short time, everyone goes on with their day and quickly forget about that truck passing by.
But the real question is this: What purpose were the fire trucks created to perform? Was the purpose to look good, impress people and carry Santa Claus? Or...is the real purpose that they were created for to save lives? If you were ever in a fire, and you were rescued or your house saved, I believe you would think about that event every time you saw a fire truck.
In many ways, the fire truck is sort of like the church. Many churches have become places that have beautiful buildings. Some churches get people excited, but in a short time, many people go back to their lives and forget by Sunday night what even happened on Sunday morning at the service. And some churches have become social gatherings. Or some are places that people feel required to go to every Sunday so they get that checkmark on their imagined behavioral report card that God has.
Hmmm...Get people saved from going to hell? Get people healed? Teach obedience to the Word of God? And cast out demons through the power of the Holy Spirit? Wow! That sure doesn't sound like most churches I've ever experienced in my life!
Heavenly Father, thank You for gracing us, that we see our need for a Savior. Thank You for gracing us with the power to say no to sin. And thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, that You fulfilled Your purpose by dying on the cross and rising from the dead for Your true church family. What an amazing God we serve. God bless you all.

Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi everyone. It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. A Word that the Lord has been speaking to me comes from Mark chapter 15 verses 37 to 38 and it says, “With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.”
"As we move with Him, He feeds us His Word, filling us with life. " The other day, the girls and I went to the park. In the park, they have bird blinds where you can observe birds without disturbing them. We had the pleasure of watching a white crane. This bird was beautiful. As we watched, I asked my girls to stop talking and just sit quietly for a moment. As we watched this bird, I noticed for several minutes, he sat quietly as well, listening, watching, waiting and then boom! He made his move, catching his morning meal.
God began to speak to me. He was showing me how we are called to be just like that crane, listening, waiting, and watching so we know how to move. As we move with Him, He feeds us His Word, filling us with life. God speaks and His Word is the bread of life.
When we move according to our own ways, we starve spiritually. In this verse it says, “With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last…” We know from the book of John chapter 19 verse 30 Jesus spoke a Word and that Word is, “It is finished.” Everything had been fulfilled so that you and I can be free, no longer bound by the old covenant but coming into a new covenant with God.
It's the power to completely transform our lives. He speaks and we move with Him. I can personally testify of times in my life when I was alone or scared, not knowing what to do and God spoke and it changed everything for me in that moment, giving me peace or direction, filling me with life. I am praying that our children will come into that same relationship with the Lord, no matter the circumstance, stopping and listening so that they would be given a Word of life.
Thank You Lord that You still speak. That You are speaking even now. Thank You for the mighty work that You have done on the cross. Thank You Lord that You have loved us and that You have come Lord to break the old way of doing things. Thank You that Your Word brings life to us. God bless and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon!

Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi everyone. It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The Word for today comes from 1 Samuel, chapter 8, verses 4 to 5 and it says, “So all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah. They said to him, ‘You are old and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.’”
It's the same with the Lord. His desire is to teach us the right way to live our lives. For the Christian, God has called us, just like the Jews. In 1 Peter, chapter 2, verse 9, it says, “But you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” We are a people set apart. No longer walking in our own ways, which is darkness, but in His wonderful light.
Lord, thank You for Your wonderful light. I pray that when our heart desires to do things like everyone else, we would remember who we are. I pray that we would remember Your love and choose to walk in Your wonderful light, desiring You to be our only King. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon.

Genesis 25:32-33
“Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?” But Jacob said, “Swear to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.

Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi everyone. It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. A Word that I’ve thought about for some time comes from Genesis chapter 25 verses 32 to 33. And it says, “‘Look, [I’m] about to die,’ Esau said. ‘What good is the birthright to me?’ But Jacob said, ‘Swear to me first.’ So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright to Jacob.”
This story takes place between twin brothers Jacob and Esau - Esau being the firstborn, therefore being the one entitled to the birthright. After an exhausting time in the field, Esau, smelling the aroma of the stew his brother was making, asked his brother Jacob for some. Jacob refused to give Esau some of his stew unless Esau agreed to sell his birthright.
I remember the first time I read this story, it didn't make sense. Selling your birthright for soup? During that time period a birthright was a big deal. Having a birthright meant that after your father passes away, you will take over as head of the family. You receive double the inheritance. It is also said according to Jewish tradition, the firstborn offered sacrifices before the tabernacle was set up.
Unfortunately there are places in my life where I’ve put my physical needs above my spiritual needs. The times in my life when God was telling me to do something, instead I chose to do what was comfortable - when I do this I give my comfort value above God's commands - selling my inheritance to His Kingdom.
My kids are always trading their candy. Kyle does not like chocolate, but he does like gummy candy. My girls like all candy, but they love chocolate. The girls are always willing to trade their gummies for Kyle's chocolate. On the other hand, if I came over looking to trade my delicious Brussels sprouts for some of their chocolate, I wouldn't have a deal. My girls wouldn’t trade their chocolate for Brussels sprouts because for them, that chocolate is valuable. They are not willing to give it up for something of lesser, or in some cases, no value.
Lord, thank You for Your amazing grace in our lives. Thank You for calling us to Your wonderful Kingdom. I pray that we would walk every day holding onto Your promises. I pray that we would place value in knowing and serving You high above our own fleeting desires. Lord, I pray that our children and the people around us would see You and the value that You have in our lives by our refusal to do anything that would compromise Your Kingdom. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week, I will speak to you again soon.

John 8:32
About Tania
Tania Landwehrle and her husband, Roland, have three children - a teenage son named Kyle and two young daughters, Taylor and Ryann. There is never a dull moment in the Landwehrle family, as each of their children is unique in age and in personality, and they are confident in their love for Jesus.
Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi everyone. It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The Word the Lord has given me comes from John, chapter 8, verse 32. And it says, “‘Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”
I remember when I have been given truth. Yes, I say ‘given,’ because it's a gift. At a time when no one wants to say the wrong thing out of fear of offending someone, truth is what gives life to the dead things in our lives and breaks all confusion. In this Word, Jesus is explaining to the Pharisees that sin is slavery, and a slave can't free a slave, because the slave has no permanent place. Only the Son can set a slave free. We have been called to be sons of God.
I've witnessed firsthand in my own life what the selfishness of keeping the truth to myself cost. I want my children to understand the power of knowing and speaking the truth. Knowing the truth is knowing Christ - the Way, the Truth and the Light. Jesus is life and He brings life to the things that are dead in us. Every time I was given the truth and accepted it, there was a transformation that took place in my life. Life was given and it's the most important gift I could ever receive.
Lord, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for the truth. Thank You for Your Son. Thank You for pastors and teachers willing to speak the truth. Lord, we know the truth makes crooked ways straight. Please teach us to walk in the truth, to desire the truth because we know that when we know the truth, we are free. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon.

Galatians 2:1-2
"...I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain."

Tania's Full BioMoms for Christ "As a runner, you must pay careful attention to the course because each course is different..." Hi everyone! It's Tania, and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. Recently, my daughter Taylor joined the cross country team. What's interesting about cross country is there's no specific course outlined - every course is different. So, when a team comes to your school to run, the coaches of the opposing team lead the runners through the course. As a runner, you must pay careful attention to the course because each course is different, and if you run the wrong way, you will be disqualified. Sometimes, as the parents are spectating, they may yell to the kids, ‘You're goin’ the wrong way! Turn around!’ Unfortunately, if someone is not there to warn the child, unbeknownst to them, they run the race in vain - running the wrong way, becoming disqualified. In Galatians chapter 2, verse 1-2 it says, “Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the Gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.”
Paul is speaking to the churches in Galatia. He's upset because the people are beginning to live out a gospel different than the Gospel they were given. Paul speaks about how he came to preach the Gospel he preaches. Paul speaks about how along his journey, he meets with Cephas also known as Peter. Fourteen years later, he meets with Barnabas and esteemed leaders to make sure he is running the right way - to make sure he was still running on the course. It's what God has called each of us to.
In 2 Corinthians, chapter 13 verse 5 it says, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test?”
I want my children to learn - while they're young - to examine themselves. The only way they learn is by the example I set, their father, and the church around us sets before them. I don't want them to realize a mile, two miles, or two years down the road, that they've been running in vain. In 2 Peter, chapter 1 verse 10 it says, “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.”

Mark 10:48-51
About Tania

Tania's Full BioMoms for ChristHi everyone! It's Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The word that the Lord has put in my heart comes from Mark, chapter 10, verses 48 to 51. And it says, “Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’ Jesus stopped and said, ‘Call him.’ So they called to the blind man, ‘Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you.’ Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him. The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’”
Jesus has done the same thing when He came to earth. His light gives sight to those who are spiritually blind. In the story of blind Bartimaeus, Jesus not only brought physical sight, but He also brought spiritual sight to a man who was living in darkness. In Matthew, chapter 4, verse 16 it says “the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” That light is Jesus. He has come to open our eyes that we would come to know Him. When we are filled with His Spirit, our ways begin to bow so that His way can come forth in me and you.
"Lord please forgive us for trying to stumble through this life on our own." Bartimaeus knew he was blind. How silly would it be if after all that Bartimaeus did to get Jesus’ attention, Jesus asked, ‘What do you want?’ And he says, ‘I don’t know. Food, money, clothes, a house.’ All of those things are fine, but Bartimaeus knew that none of those things would change his situation. He knew that he had to be able to see where he was going. Unfortunately, there have been times in my life where I desired those things above my actual need - a Savior. I want to be more like Bartimaeus everyday - understanding my actual need, something that lasts. Bartimaeus threw aside what he had for something greater. I want to be one calling out to the Lord, day and night, loudly, unashamed, ‘Lord! I can't see! I need Your eyes so that everything I see is through You. Lord, I don't want to see through my own eyes because when I do, it's all about me.’
Lord, please let our children come into that cry to You, saying, ‘Lord, I need Your glasses to see. Without Your light, I will continue to wander through life without a purpose - bumping into my will, my way, my thoughts and ideas.’ Lord please, open our eyes that we may see. Open our eyes so that we can follow You. Open our eyes so that we see things the way that You see them; no longer locked in our mindset, which is darkness, but living the life You have called us to in Your wonderful light. Lord please forgive us for trying to stumble through this life on our own. I pray that we would not stop until not only our eyes are open, but the ones around us as well. God bless, and have a wonderful week. I will speak to you again soon.

1 Peter 5:7
It’s Tania and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. The Word that I have today comes from 1 Peter, chapter 5, verse 7. And it says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”What 1 Peter 5:7 MeansOver the past few weeks the Lord continues to speak this Word to me. The Lord is so sweet to speak this Word. In a time where there is such uncertainty, we can find certainty in the Lord. Peter wrote this letter to the Christians being persecuted in Rome. There were unimaginable decisions that had to be made by the people in that time. This Word is a Word of reassurance reminding the people then, as well as us today, to cast our worries, fears, and troubles on the One who cares for us. God is a good Father who desires for us to seek Him in everything. He wants to be the One who leads us in every situation because He knows exactly what we need.
It's the same with the Lord - the One who has been since the beginning of time. He knows the beginning as well as the end of each of our lives. When I look at my own life and the times I thought I knew better, I see the mess I made, the hurt I caused. When I tried to handle it on my own I remember the sleepless nights that led to nothing, the suffering I put myself through that led to a dead end. When we give God our worries and fears, the Lord directs us in the way we should go. Our minds can rest at ease knowing that as long as we are obedient, the One who cares for us is in control - no matter how it looks to us, God's got it! He is leading us in His will.
Giving Your Worries to the LordA few years ago, our family went away for a few days. Taylor knew about the trip; unfortunately, she was more nervous than excited. She was worried about being away from home for so long. She worried about our dog, she worried about sleeping in a new place, and the list continued. The Sunday before the trip, her Sunday school teacher taught the children this verse. She gave each child a box with a hole on top of it. The children were instructed to write their fears and anxieties on a piece of paper and put it in the box. The box was meant to represent Jesus. The next day, as we headed on our trip, I told Taylor she could bring the box. In the beginning of our trip, she wrote down her fears; on the second day, she wrote a little less; by the third day I asked her, ‘What happened to the box?’ She said she didn't need it. She gave God her fears, and she knew He was in control. God had it, and she didn't have to worry about those things any longer. She still has the box to this day as a reminder, even though she has learned to give God her worries and trust Him because He loves her. She knows He wants what's best for her.
Lord, You are amazing. There is no God like You. You are awesome in all that You do. Thank You for the love You have shown us. Thank You that we don't have to figure the chaos of our lives out on our own, but that we can come to You, the One who cares for us and You lead us in the way that is right. Lord, let us be a people who give You all our anxieties because we trust You. Amen. God bless and have a wonderful week, I will speak to you again soon.
