This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest updates from Monaco, starting with a prestigious accolade for the Principality. Monaco has been awarded Best European Destination 2025 by European Best Destinations, further solidifying its status as a premier travel hotspot.

In Courchevel, the third edition of the charity dinner supporting the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the Courchevel Sports Club took place on February 20 at the Ineos Club House. The event brought together athletes, philanthropists, and distinguished guests for a night dedicated to sport, charity, and unity.

Meanwhile, the Monaco for Employment forum attracted a record turnout at the Grimaldi Forum, underscoring Monaco’s role as a key employer in the Riviera. The third edition of this major recruitment event welcomed nearly 6,000 job seekers and over 100 companies across 13 sectors, making it the largest gathering of its kind yet.

Humanitarian efforts also took centre stage as the Monaco Red Cross outlined its impact in 2024 and ambitious plans for 2025. Secretary General Frédéric Platini led the organisation’s annual press conference on February 21, detailing significant achievements and future initiatives.

On the environmental front, Monaco reaffirmed its commitment to marine conservation by hosting a pivotal RAMOGE Agreement Commission meeting on February 25. This saw France officially hand over the presidency to Italy, marking a new phase in Mediterranean marine protection ahead of RAMOGE’s 50th anniversary in 2026.

In royal news, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene visited the Monte-Carlo Nursery on February 25. The facility reopened in January after six months of renovations, further enhancing early childhood care in the Principality.

Turning to sports, the Roca Team advanced to the Coupe de France semi-finals with a dominant 83-70 victory over LDLC ASVEL at the Salle Gaston-Médecin on Tuesday, February 25. However, despite a late surge led by Élie Okobo, the team fell short in a tight EuroLeague clash against Olimpia Milano, losing 86-80 on Thursday, February 27.

This week, NEWS.MC TV is joined by Frédéric Geerts, President of CEMA (Club des Entrepreneurs Monégasque en Afrique). In an exclusive interview, Geerts discusses Monaco’s growing business ties with Africa and the opportunities for entrepreneurs in the region.
