This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest updates from Monaco, starting with a crucial financial development. Monaco’s Coordination and Monitoring Committee convened on February 27 under Isabelle Berro-Amadeï to assess progress on combating money laundering and financial crime following the Principality’s placement on the Financial Action Task Force grey list. These strengthened oversight measures reflect Monaco’s commitment to maintaining financial integrity.


In a significant legal ruling, the long-running corruption case against AS Monaco owner Dmitri Rybolovlev collapsed on February 27. Monaco’s Council Chamber ruled to annul all legal proceedings, marking the end of a years-long legal battle.


Monaco’s culinary scene received global recognition as legendary chef Alain Ducasse was honoured with the Forbes Award of Excellence at the Forbes Travel Guide Summit. The prestigious event was held in Europe for the first time, with Monaco chosen as the host city.

In a heartfelt initiative, the Princely Palace of Monaco was illuminated in blue on March 1 to mark the start of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. This initiative aims to highlight the importance of early screening and public awareness in the fight against cancer.


On the cultural front, Monaco students reflected on the legacy of Jean Zay as the Théâtre des Variétés hosted the powerful play Jean Zay, the Universal Man on March 1. The performance recounted the life and tragic fate of the Jewish politician, who was assassinated by the militia in 1944.

Monaco’s climate in 2024 has been marked by extreme conditions, with the year ranking as the third warmest on record. The Principality also experienced a sharp drop in sunshine and the highest rainfall levels since the 1960s, highlighting the ongoing impact of climate change.

Music lovers were treated to an unforgettable evening at the Auditorium Rainier III on March 2, as the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, under Philippe Jordan, delivered a powerful rendition of Act 2 of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde. The performance captivated audiences with its emotional depth and technical brilliance.

The Ballets de Monte-Carlo dazzled Parisian audiences with their unique blend of classical elegance and contemporary energy. Their performances at the Théâtre de la Ville, from February 28 to March 5, showcased the company’s artistic versatility and innovation.


On the sports front, the Roca Team secured a crucial EuroLeague victory over Paris Basketball on March 5, with a commanding 79-91 win. With both teams entering the game on equal records and recent losses, the stakes were high, but Monaco rose to the challenge with a dominant performance.
