This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest headlines from across the Principality, beginning with a ceremonial handover at Monaco’s Fontvieille Fire Station. On February 5, Adjutant Olivier Vitale officially took command, succeeding Adjutant-Chief Frank Giribaldi. The symbolic transfer of the unit’s banner, attended by Interior Minister Lionel Beffre and members of the Firefighters Corps, marked a moment of continuity, honour and service.


Monaco reaffirmed its leadership in the superyacht sector as the 18th La Belle Classe Superyachts Economic Symposium convened at the Yacht Club de Monaco. Under the supervision of Yacht Club President His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the summit gathered global industry leaders to address innovation, sustainability and the future of large yacht construction.


The Grimaldi Forum welcomed hundreds of job seekers for the fourth Monaco Employment Forum on February 6. Opened by Minister of State Christophe Mirmand and Social Affairs Minister Christophe Robino, the event featured more than 100 exhibitors across 14 sectors, underscoring Monaco’s dynamic and evolving employment landscape.


In sport, Monaco achieved a landmark Davis Cup victory in Astana, defeating Kazakhstan 3–1 to secure promotion to World Group I. A decisive doubles win from Romain Arneodo and Hugo Nys set the stage for Valentin Vacherot, who sealed the tie in dramatic fashion with an ace on match point, marking a historic moment for Monegasque tennis.


Snow and suspense defined the 28th Monte Carlo Historic Rally, as crews navigated icy mountain roads across the Ardèche and Drôme regions. The return of the final stages to Monaco, culminating in the legendary Turini loop, provided a fitting and dramatic conclusion to the event.


The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra returned to the Auditorium Rainier III following a successful Spanish tour, delivering a programme of Bach, Haydn and Beethoven under Ton Koopman. Principal cellist Thierry Amadi stepped in at short notice to perform Haydn’s cello concerto, earning warm acclaim from the audience.


As Monaco continues strengthening its anti-money laundering framework, a new independent compliance firm, BD LP, has launched to support businesses adapting to evolving regulations. The firm will assist financial and non-financial sectors alike, from banking to yachting.


Art lovers are invited to Villa Paloma for The Feeling of Nature: Contemporary Art in Poussin’s Mirror, the New National Museum of Monaco’s first major exhibition of the year. The show creates a dialogue between classical master Nicolas Poussin and contemporary interpretations of the natural world.
