There is a very interesting parallel to the parable of the prodigal son in 2 Samuel chapter 13. Today I want to examine that parallel and provide some extra context to the parable through the lens of David and his sons Amnon and Absalom. We will see the severity of the younger son's sin, and the self-destructive nature of pride and bitterness, we will also see how David acts as a type of Christ and how Jesus fulfills what David could not.
