  • Do You Love Jesus? - 10-4-2021

This week on Monday Main Point, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Blake, and Jeff conclude the study on agape love, as they talk about Jesus' reinstatement of Peter found in John 21.15-17.  They discuss our tendency to replace our love for Jesus with other people, things, and activities.  For instance, if I miss church to attend a sporting event, am I sinning?  They also address why we drift away from God when we need his love and forgiveness most, why we have difficulty confessing our wrongs, and whether we can love Jesus with a true agape love.

  • Love God With All Your Being - 9-27-2021

This week on Monday Main Point, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Blake, and Jeff continue to discuss the aspects of agape, as they converse with one another about what it means to love God with all your being.  What is the greatest commandment and why was it important?  What does it mean to love God with ALL of your being, does it mean that we lose our own personalities as well?  Can we love God with all our being and be only partially committed?

  • "Love Your Enemies, Really?" - 9-13-2021

This week on Monday Main Point, Jonathan, Blake, and Jeff discuss what it means to "love our enemies" as they take a deeper look at Jesus' words in Matt. 5.43-45.  They address the question, "Does the Christian have any enemies?"  They talk about what Jesus meant when He told His followers that He did not come to bring peace but a sword.  And they converse with each other about the cultural implications of these unconventional words of Jesus concerning our enemies -- especially in light of terroristic events like 9-11 and the current situation in Afghanistan.

  • Agape Friends Forever - 8-30-2021

This week on Monday Main Point, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Blake, and Jeff discuss agape love and its applications.  What is the definition of agape love and how is it different from the way we experience love as individuals or as a culture?  What is the difference between acceptance and tolerance and agape love, and is there any room for either of these in our understanding of agape?  What are some practical ways to practice agape love when it is foreign to our normal experience?
