Episode Notes | Mondays Are a Mother
We’re a little fashionably late this week, but better late than never, right? Life has been lifing, schedules have been scheduling, and apparently we have some explaining to do.
This week we’re catching up, recapping what’s been happening since our last episode, and addressing the question that seems to be on everyone’s mind…
DO I ACTUALLY HAVE A BOYFRIEND, OR IS THIS WHOLE THING FAKE?!
The speculation, the questions, the theories, and apparently the public’s need for a relationship status update have officially made their way to the podcast. So let’s talk about it.
We’re getting caught up, clearing the air (or maybe adding a little more smoke), and having some fun with the things everyone thinks they know.
Because apparently, around here, even our dating lives need a press release.
Thanks for being patient with us while we’re a little behind. We’re back, we’ve got things to talk about, and you know we couldn’t leave you hanging.
Tune in, catch up!
As always, thanks for being here. 💋

This Week on Mondays Are a Mother 🎙️🖤
This week on MRAM, we’re recapping our time participating in Emo-Ween and diving into that all-too-familiar feeling of being out of place.
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to fit in, something just doesn’t feel right. And maybe the lesson isn’t to change yourself, shrink yourself, or keep trying to make something work. Maybe it’s learning to accept things as they are, trusting what you feel, and recognizing that not every space is meant for you.
Because sometimes, feeling out of place doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. Sometimes, it just means you’re in the wrong room.
This week, we’re talking about letting go of the need to belong everywhere, embracing the spaces where we can be ourselves, and understanding that we don’t have to force what doesn’t fit.
Tune in, because sometimes the room needs to change—not you. 🖤
Your Monday Mantra: I will no longer force myself to fit into spaces I’ve outgrown or places I was never meant to be.

On this week's Episode of Mondays Are A Mother
We're rejoined by the OWNER of The Feral Flower Co. Ms. Sidney Burlas.
One thing about the show is that it has brought friendships into fruition, business relationships forged, and new perspectives on how trauma impacts our behaviors. Kaelynn and Sidney discuss how their businesses have grown, and their friendship blossomed. Blossomed so hard that Sidney gifted Kaelynn a rose she's never seen before.
Get into the taboo conversations of solo intimacy and if our traumas REALLY also show up in the bedroom too.
Sit down, laugh, and big purrr this weeks episode.

Ode to the Irony
Sometimes the past doesn’t stay where we left it. Sometimes it follows us into new relationships, new beginnings, and new versions of ourselves. It shows up in the patterns we swore we’d never repeat, the walls we build to protect ourselves, and the ways we unknowingly sabotage the very things we want most.
In this episode of Mondays Are a Mother, we’re getting personal. Through the lens of my relationship with David, I’m sharing the story of our relationship, the lessons it left behind, and the lasting impact his death has had on my life.
We’re talking about grief, trauma, self-sabotage, and the complicated ways our past experiences can shape our present behavior. How do we recognize when old wounds are influencing new situations? How do we stop allowing what happened to us to dictate what we believe we deserve? And what happens when the very things we do to protect ourselves become the things that keep us from healing?
This is a story about love, loss, hindsight, and the irony of realizing how much our past can influence our future without us even noticing.
Because sometimes, the hardest part of healing isn’t just letting go of what happened. It’s recognizing how much of it we’re still carrying.
Welcome to Ode to The Irony

On this weeks episode of Mondays Are A Mother
We recap last weeks episode with Jesse Smith “Opandaman” and his music journey.
How much of what we do in relationships is actually about love—and how much is about trying to prove that we’re worthy of being loved?
In this episode of Mondays Are A Mother, we’re unpacking the difference between proving and choosing in relationship dynamics. We talk about what happens when you find yourself constantly proving your loyalty, your value, your love, or why you deserve to be chosen, instead of simply being in a relationship where both people are intentionally choosing each other.
We’re getting into the moments when love starts to feel like an audition, the need for validation, chasing reassurance, and the difference between fighting for a relationship and fighting to convince someone to want one.
Because sometimes the question isn’t, “What else can I do to prove I’m worth choosing?”
Sometimes it’s, “Is this a relationship I’m choosing, too?”

This week we sat down with local artist Jesse Smith "OPandaMan!" out of Clarksville, TN.

BROTHER BEAR with Christian Carter 🐻
What happens when addiction becomes part of your story before you’re even old enough to understand what it is?
In this episode of Mondays Are A Mother, we sit down with Christian Carter for a deeply personal conversation about addiction, family, recovery, and identity.
Christian takes us back to the earliest moments he can remember being aware of addiction and the ways it shaped his life and impacted his family—especially his sister. He shares his own journey, the realities of finding his way through addiction, and what recovery has meant for him.
We also dive into something that doesn’t always get talked about: growing up biracial in a small town, looking like everyone around you while simultaneously feeling different. What does it mean to find yourself when you don’t always feel like you fit neatly into the world around you?
This conversation is about more than addiction. It’s about family. Identity. Belonging. Breaking cycles. And learning that sometimes the things that make us feel different are the very things that make our stories worth telling.
Come sit with us for Brother Bear. 🐻

This week on Mondays Are a Mother…
After recapping last week’s conversation with Taryn, we’re shifting gears and sitting down with Kaila Wink, former podcaster and host of Girlie Talk Podcast.
Kaila gets real about the impact recovery can have on siblings when everyone is on a different journey. We talk about her relationship with her older brothers, how those relationships have evolved, and the moments that ultimately created a rift between them.
Because sometimes loving your family doesn’t mean you’re always on the same page—and sometimes the hardest part is understanding that everyone’s path to healing looks different.
What really happened between Kaila and her brothers? What caused the distance? And can relationships survive when everyone is fighting their own battles?
You’ll have to listen to find out.

⚠️ LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED. ⚠️
This week on Mondays Are a Mother, I’m sitting down with Taryn Lynae, a domestic violence advocate who is sharing her story of navigating the system after a not alleged (because it really happened and we’re not afraid of him either) domestic violence incident involving Peter.
Taryn takes us back to the night everything happened—the messages, the moments that followed, and what it has been like trying to navigate a case that is still currently open.
We talk about her experience with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office, the moments when she feels the system failed her, and what happens when the people and institutions you expect to protect you leave you feeling unheard.
This isn’t just a conversation about one case. It’s about advocacy, accountability, navigating the aftermath of abuse, and finding your voice when you feel like no one is listening.
Taryn isn’t just telling her story—she’s using it to advocate for others.
This episode contains discussions of domestic violence, alleged abuse, trauma, and an ongoing legal case. Listener discretion is strongly advised.
