Monks are Cheaters: Defining Presence with Chris Wainwright
In this episode, I sit down with my good friend Chris Wainwright, who wrote the best bio I’ve ever received for anything, ever:
Chris is a human man. He did a degree in physics, went to grad school for the same thing, and gained a fundamental understanding of the way the universe works. He then found out that doesn't really help you feel better about your own existence, and became very confused.
Currently he is the Director of Marketing for a software company in Toronto, an expectant father, and worse at golf than he wants to be.
He believes 90% of the world's problems arise because the average person can't sit still in an empty room for 24 hours.
Anthony told him he could write literally anything he wanted CHAIR CEILING BOBMARLEY CHICKEN in his bio.
We discuss the distinction between abstraction and experience, claim why monks are cheaters, and define a clear, comprehendible framework for what it means to be truly present in one’s life, so that we can aim to embody that state of being legitimately.
