We saved the best til last this Halloween as we cover one of Ciaras all time favourites in 1988's "Beetlejuice". It's showtime for this rant about the cartoon series, not realising Beetlejuice IS the villain, not reading your damn handbook, incredible sets, a one of a kind performance, kind of janky stop motion, a seriously moany Lydia and why we'll never ever cover Ferris Bueller.

You like Huey Lewis and The News? We don't really, but we love the satirical takedown of the excess of the 80's that is "American Psycho". So go get us a reservation and then settle in for a rant about not getting the film back then, not getting the controversy now, why Jean survives, the importance of fitting in (with your shitty friends) & Fantasy Vs Reality and why it really doesn't matter.

Grab your Troll Stench and make sure you're not a Christian as we head to Norway for 2010's excellent "Troll Hunter". Scandinavian Humour is an odd beast but bear poaching is no joke in this rant about a found footage nature doc, Folksy Trolls, sneaky Metalocalypse references, one very accepting cameraperson and a grouchy employee becoming a tragic hero.

We love a good on screen Satan here at MonoRants and we love Keanu so lets combine the two (again) as we talk 1997's "The Devil's Advocate". We revisit a favourite film from both our childhoods this week with 1992's surprisingly appropriate for kids "Death Becomes Her". School's back from summer and Mono wanted to revisit his teen years with a high school alien invasion film that Ciara had never seen. This week we're looking at 1998's ridiculously fun Sci-Fi/Horror "The Faculty" and ranting about an insane school with even more insane staff, the joy of Robert Patrick running, tropey teens with a twist, a packed cast list, great pacing and our apparent shared phobia of automatically closing bleachers.

We're off to our Vacation Home in the mountains this week to defend it from some college kids. That's right, it's "Tucker & Dale Vs Evil" and a rant about squeezing way too many people in cars, subverting horror clichés. daytime deaths, out-acting Alan Tudyk and a Sherriff we think has seen this kinda thing many many times.

This week we're looking back fondly at two favourite idiots from our childhoods in MTV's first and only animated feature. It's time for 1996's "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" and a rant about a journey film where nothing is gained or learned, the general idiocy of teenage boys, the awesomeness of late 90's MTV, the trouble with TV in Ireland and why the ATF showing up is never a good thing.
