Groups suing to stop the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline made their arguments in federal court in Great Falls Thursday. They’re asking a judge to void the Trump administration’s permit approving the project crossing the U.S.- Canada border.

President Donald Trump signed a banking bill into law Thursday that Montana Senator Jon Tester played key roles in crafting and passing. The bill rolls back some provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act, that was passed in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis in an effort to prevent something like that from happening again.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Montana offered some advice to Republican Senator Steve Daines Wednesday. They want him to stop blocking Montana residents from his official government Twitter account. “By blocking users, it prevents them from being able to engage in discourse about the various different issues that are raised by Senator Daines on his account," says ACLU of Montana attorney Elizabeth Ehret.

The court case brought by Democrats challenging the Green Party’s access to the 2018 election ballot in Montana will resume this Thursday under review of a new judge. Democrats allege Montana’s Republican Secretary of State erred in certifying the Green Party for the ballot.

Chase Comes at Night, who is Blackfeet, is a high school senior in Billings who wants to get more involved in politics. “The issues that I would focus on addressing would be, most likely, poverty and just connecting our reservations and rural areas to the real world," Comes at Night says. "On the reservations it seems like it's more of a third world compared to what we live in.”
