Lt: Vieną šaltą rytą Eglė nusprendė pasivaikščioti po Vilniaus senamiestį.
En: One cold morning, Eglė decided to take a walk around the Old Town of Vilnius.

Lt: Oro buvo gaivaus, dangaus spalva - melsvai pilka, o gatves apklojo purus sniego kilimas.
En: The air was fresh, the sky was a bluish-grey, and the streets were covered with a blanket of fluffy snow.

Lt: Po Vakarų pilies bokštų ir šv. Jono bažnyčios šešėlių, kažkas išties prajuokino Eglės akį.
En: Amidst the shadows of the Western Castle towers and St. John's Church, something truly caught Eglė's eye.

Lt: Tai buvo senas, garbingas paminklas.
En: It was an old, dignified monument.

Lt: Skulptūra atrodė taip gyva, kad Eglė nustebo.
En: The sculpture looked so lifelike that Eglė was surprised.

Lt: Ji priėjo artyn ir pradėjo šnekintis: "Labas rytas! Toks šaltas oras šiandien, ar ne?"
En: She approached and started speaking: "Good morning! It's such a cold weather today, isn't it?"

Lt: Paminklas, žinoma, neatsakė.
En: The monument, of course, didn't respond.

Lt: Eglė bandė dar kartą, manydama, kad nepažįstamasis girdintis.
En: Eglė tried again, thinking that perhaps the stranger didn't hear her.

Lt: "Gal galėčiau paklausti, kur yra artimiausia kavinė?"
En: "Could you tell me where the nearest café is, maybe?"

Lt: Pro šalį ėję žmonės pradėjo snausti ir šypsotis, matydami, kaip Eglė kalbasi su akmens žmogumi.
En: People passing by started to chuckle and smile seeing Eglė talking to the stone figure.

Lt: Tuo tarpu, Jonas, vaikinas su šiltu šaliku apsisiautęs kaklą, pastebėjo Eglės painiavą.
En: Meanwhile, Jonas, a guy with a cozy scarf wrapped around his neck, noticed Eglė's confusion.

Lt: Jis priėjo prie merginos ir šyptelėjo.
En: He approached the girl and smiled.

Lt: "Ar žinote, kad tai paminklas, o ne tikras žmogus?" - paklausė jis.
En: "Do you know that this is a monument, not a real person?" he asked.

Lt: Eglė susigėdo ir, parodžiusi gražią šypseną, atsakė: "Taip, aš tik... maniau, gal tai koks menininko performansas."
En: Eglė blushed and, flashing a beautiful smile, replied: "Yes, I just... thought maybe it was some kind of art performance."

Lt: Jonas švelniai nusijuokė ir pasiūlė kartu pasieškoti kavinės.
En: Jonas chuckled softly and offered to find the café together.

Lt: Eglė sutiko, ir jiedu nuėjo link Pilies gatvės, kur senamiestis alsavo istorijos dvasia.
En: Eglė agreed, and they walked towards Pilies Street, where the Old Town was breathing with the spirit of history.

Lt: Jonu susipažinus ir pasikalbant, Eglė atrado ne tik artimiausią kavinę, bet ir naują draugą.
En: As they got to know each other and talked, Eglė not only found the nearest café but also a new friend in Jonas.

Lt: Nuo tos dienos Eglė nebedarė klaidų kalbėdama su paminklais, o jos ir Jono draugystė tapo Vilniaus senamiesčio legendos dalimi.
En: From that day on, Eglė no longer made mistakes talking to monuments, and her and Jonas' friendship became a part of the legend of Vilnius Old Town.

Lt: Ir kaskart, eidama pro tą patį paminklą, Eglė šypsodavosi, prisimindama savo mažą nuotykį.
En: And every time she passed by that same monument, Eglė would smile, remembering her little adventure.
