The UN mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, MONUSCO has suspended eight South African UN peacekeepers following reports of sexual exploitation and abuse. The personnel involved were deployed at a MONUSCO base in Beni, east of the country, were arrested earlier this month. The men are accused of "fraternizing, after curfew hours, at an out-of-bounds bar known to be a place where transactional sex occurs".
