The "featuring" phenomenon in music explains that combining artists of different genres increases a song’s popularity. The greater the difference or cultural distance between the genres of the artists involved, the more likely the song is to reach the top of the charts!

This week we talk all about our favourite TV series that feature some nostalgic, classic, peculiar, fresh and iconic soundtracks that are both unforgettable and unmissable to any fan. We start with some older series from Gilmore Girls to the classic Friends "I'll be there for you", moving into newer series, Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Dear White People, Atlanta as well as a whole array of other tv series that feature diverse music genres and flavours like no other, as well as some famous music cameos. We end the episode discussing our new favourite tv series; Euphoria, and it's magical soundtrack that both moves and grooves us, as well as the significant effect music, can have on making or breaking a TV show. In some of the latest 2020 stats we have seen a Vinyl rebirth; meaning Vinyl records have officially outsold CDs! What is with this new obsession with vinyl and nostalgic media? In this episode, we explore exactly why they're so popular and mainstream. We also talk about the nostalgic, emotional and personal experiences with vinyl and collecting them, as well as reminiscing on our first instances with vinyl records, giving you our top 5 vinyl albums from our own personal collection.

In alignment with R U OK Day and World Suicide Prevention Day, and in collaboration with Smash the Silence founder, Isaac Percy, for this week's episode 3 of MOOD Podcast we bring you a discussion on music and mental health.   

Music is an outlet for many for us, helping us process our emotions, connect with one another and get us through the tough times.  In more recent times through Covid 19, we've had to adapt and change the way we connect. In this episode Issac shares with us how he's had to completely change the way he runs his program, still allowing people to share, connect and have important conversations adapting to an online platform.  

A big thank you to Isaac for giving us this opportunity to talk with him and giving us some insight to this great project he has created. We are so grateful to have him share his own personal mental health journey with us and are so proud of the work he is doing!
