"In the moonlight, black boys look blue." Moonlight (2016) is directed by Barry Jenkins and took home the Oscar for Best Picture in 2017. The film follows Chiron, a gay black male growing up in Liberty City, struggling with poverty, love, acceptance, and his own sexual identity. Chiron's settings and people around him turn his life around drastically, influencing him for the better or worst. The journey to destroy the stereotypes for masculinity is beautiful crafted by Mr. Jenkins in this film. The movie stars Mahershala Ali, Naomi Harris, Trevante Rhodes, Alex R Hibbert, Janelle Monae, Ashton Sanders, Jharrel Jerome, Andre Holland.
