  • Taylor Hale | Episode 34: Built to Win

Today’s episode is one I’ve been looking forward to — because my guest is the one and only Taylor Hale — reality TV royalty, Big Brother legend, and now a competitor on this season of The Amazing Race.

Taylor made history as the first Black female winner of Big Brother, and if that wasn’t enough, she also took home America’s Favorite Houseguest — becoming the first person ever to win both titles in a single season. Talk about a double crown moment.

In this episode, we trace Taylor’s incredible journey — from growing up just outside of Detroit, Michigan, to studying at George Washington University, to her rise in the pageant world, where she returned home to win Miss Michigan and go on to compete for Miss USA.

We dive into what it takes to stay composed under pressure, how she found her voice through competition, and the mindset that’s carried her from pageants to prime-time television.

But don’t worry — it’s not all deep talk. We had some serious fun too. Taylor creates her very own Zings, Zingbot-style, for five random people from her Big Brother past and current Amazing Race season… and let’s just say, her delivery is savage in the best way.

Then to close things out, we take a cinematic detour with a review of a horror classic — Night of the Living Dead. Believe it or not, Taylor had never seen it before, and hearing her fresh perspective was such a blast. By the end, I think we officially converted her into a classic horror fan.

So settle in — this one’s smart, funny, and full of surprises. Here’s my conversation with Taylor Hale.

This week on The More for Me and You Podcast, we sit down with the incredible Sarah Clingenpeel, Vice President of Marketing for Terror Films — one of the most exciting names in the world of horror and indie film distribution.

Sarah takes us on a journey that starts in the heart of Louisiana and winds all the way to Los Angeles — or as we like to call it, from small “a” to big “A,” La to LA. We dive into her fascinating background, how her southern roots shaped her creative approach, and how she became a driving force behind the marketing engine of Terror Films.

We also explore her love for cosplay, her passion for the horror community, and how she brings that creative energy into everything she does. Then things take a turn for the fun and frightful as we play a round of This or That — horror edition — before jumping into our spoiler-free movie review of Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary (2016).

This behind-the-scenes documentary gives fans an intimate look at the making of Stephen King’s iconic Pet Sematary — complete with rare interviews, production stories, and eerie nostalgia — and you can stream it right now on Mometu for free.

  • Episode 26 | The Producer's Pick with filmmaker Gabriel Lopez

Welcome back to the More for Me and You Podcast, the official podcast of Mometu, where we celebrate the filmmakers, storytellers, and creators shaping the future of cinema.

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to an incredible up-and-coming filmmaker, Gabriel Lopez — the director of Best Kept Shut and a recent graduate from Ringling College of Art & Design. Gabriel takes us through his inspiring journey, from his roots in Miami, to his college years at Ringling, and now to Los Angeles, where he’s chasing his dream of becoming a full-time filmmaker.

We dive into his recent win at the 2025 Mometu College Film Festival, where his award-winning short Best Kept Shut not only took home Best Horror/Thriller/Sci-Fi, but also earned the prestigious Producer’s Pick Award, sponsored by Insurgence Films. That honor is opening the door for Gabriel to expand his short into a full-length feature film — and he’ll be the one in the director’s chair.
