Oh hi there , It's a podcast about me for you! My goal is to surprise you with joy normalize your doubts and leave you feeling functional in this bizarre world we live in. Today I'm talking about silly joy and by silly Joy I mean ridiculous "holidays" that you can celebrate, such as national bubble gum day, and don't Cry over spilled milk day. I'm also talking about black history month and why I am so excited to learn, dismantle, relearn and continue to understand the narratives of history that have been ignored in the mainstream. Black history isn't just about this one month but it is a great reason to take a deep dive and explore topics and themes you're curious about. I also share with you this new idea of aesthetic force in my life; brought to me courtesy of queen Bréne Brown and Dr. Sarah Lewis. I share with you how a simple children's book, Corduroy, had a profound aesthetic force influence in my life. Lastly, I'm so excited to talk about this resource I've Recently found. Bookmarks from Netflix a series of authors reading (sometimes) their children's stories. There is an entire collection called Representation Matters and it's definitely worth tuning into. Speaking of, thank you for tuning in to this podcast. If you wouldn't mind taking a moment to like, rate, subscribe, leave a review, or share--- I would be so humbled by your action! Thanks friends!
