Locker Room Power

More on regret

Listen Later

This is an update on my most listened-to podcast. Strangely it is also the first one I ever did. Because of its popularity, I’ve decided to produce an upgraded version with new thoughts on the subject and as a reminder of something that can plague our lives if we fail to see it in a different light.

The reason why I believe the subject of regret was and is so popular is because it is a very common emotion. We all tend to be quite hard on ourselves and easily fall prey to the idea that in hindsight we should have known better.

Mistakes are not only a normal part of life but as long as we learn from them are extremely helpful in our evolution. A true regret is knowingly reproducing the same error over and over again never heeding the learned message. What is interesting in life is that mistakes are often our perception at the time soon after an event that we judge to be a mistake when in hindsight, sometimes years later we look back on that mistake as one of the best things that happened to us.
