Hey athletes, I’m glad you’re here!  Welcome to More Than an Athlete.

Have you ever wondered, “Am I more than what I do in my sport?” or felt like your performance determines your worth?  You’re in the right spot.

I’m Callie Levin, a Division I basketball player at the University of Northern Iowa, and I have experienced all of these questions.

More Than an Athlete is a podcast for athletes who want to grow in their faith, find their identity beyond their sport, and experience more joy along the way.

This podcast will discuss how to separate your worth and identity from your performance, statistics, playing time, and other people’s opinions. You will hear honest stories and conversations about following God through the pressures, highs and lows, and uncertainty of being an athlete. I hope that after listening you learn how you can experience more joy in your sport and everyday life.

A little bit about me, I’m a junior at The University of Northern Iowa and play on the Women’s Basketball team. This topic of joy and identity hits close to home for me because I too have walked in your shoes and still do. I have asked the question “Am I good enough?” or “Will I ever be good enough?”. As your host, I’m excited to introduce you to my journey of how I started experiencing more joy in my sport.
