Miranda Alcaraz is as OG as it gets in the world of CrossFit.
Multiple games appearances, seminar staff and affiliate owner, her name is synonymous with early CrossFit media and if you, like me, heavily drank the CrossFit Koolaid, you’ve no doubt seen her freestyle rap a time or two.
Four years ago, Miranda and husband Julian started self programming and filming their home workouts as they took place in their garage. It was the early days of instagram, and an emerging online following as a programming authority given her time at Lynchpin (with the likes of Chris Spealler and Pat Sherwood), it didn’t take long before the social media world began to not only take note of the workouts the pair were doing, but most importantly, take part.
As such, Street Parking was born - a completely online platform of programming tiered to suit athletes of all levels, with an emphasis on the simple. Minimal space and equipment but with maximal impact - the perfect programming for those unable to make it the brick and mortar affiliates for whatever reason.
Fast forward to 2020. Covid is rife, and the fitness world scrambles to go online - an arena in which Street Parking has been trailblazing ahead for almost four years and in the perfect position to showcase what’s truly possible in the online space.
Listen along as Miranda takes me through:
I really enjoyed this conversation, and if you’re a CrossFit fan, I’m sure you will too!
