Morning Light Review

First off...SPOLER ALERT! Megan and Adrian did their very best to watch as much content as they could before the big awards season. In this episode, we list our favorite films of the year and offer a few honorable mentions and surprise films as well. With our very distinct and different film tastes, I'm sure there'll be something worth watching for any of you listeners! 

Megan and Adrian launch (hehe) into a discussion of the 1995 gem "Apollo 13". This Ron Howard and Tom Hanks film was well extremely well received but was overshadowed by Best Picture winner "Braveheart". Now, after giving it another watch, does the film still hold up and stand strong on its own? We go through the film from start to finish and see how the filmmakers took one of NASA's earliest finest hours and gave it the cinematic treatment. 

Megan and Adrian are back, joined by fellow film lover Tony, in this episode discussing one of the greatest adventure films of all time. Raiders of the Lost Ark is iconic in more ways than one, from its brilliant and instantly recognizable score to its grand sense of adventure and wonder to its charming and hilarious lead. No doubt time has been kind to this film (and the franchise) and each of us has a story to tell that recalls the feelings of nostalgia. Tune in and hear what we think of this masterclass in film entertainment. 

Megan and Adrian take on the modern classic from 2006, directed by Guillermo del Toro. We dive into the special and visual effects that bring the fantasy to life, the fairy tale approach in a real-world moment in time, and the symbolic parallel between its characters and theme. It's quite the journey, and we hope you enjoy this fantastical world as much as we did.  

While enjoying some tacos, doughnuts and butterbeer in the comforts of our own car, Adrian, Megan and guest Rachel were able to relive the magic of the fourth installment of the Harry Potter franchise at a local drive-in. Does the film still hold up against the previous three? On the other side, does the film get lost in the popularity of the later four films? Tune in to hear our thoughts on everything Goblet of Fire, from the questionable haircuts and awkward teenagers to the more serious issues of book-to-film struggles. 

We have returned!! After a very long break we've got our first film. Adrian and Megan discuss the 2015 horror/comedy Krampus. It's got humor, it's got violence, it's even got killer gingerbread cookies. We debate all sorts of burning hot topics. Does this movie fit into the holiday season or the halloween season? Do the effects help or hinder the believability? Lastly, the all-important question: Do we want Krampus to slide violently down our chimney to gobble up our loved ones...er, I mean, milk and cookies? Tune in as we unwrap (yes, a pun) all things Krampus!
