Today marks 25 years since the September 11th attacks, and while we remember the enormity of what happened that day, behind every name is a person, a family and a story that continues long after September 11th. Thomas “Tommy” Pecorelli was just 31 years old, a Newburyport High School graduate and a talented sports cameraman who was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11. His family has spent the last 25 years making sure Tommy is remembered not simply for how he died, but for how he lived. Sue and Kendra talked with Tommy’s sister, Angela Pecorelli Wadleigh.

Sue and Kendra talked with Fall River native who is starring in COME FROM AWAY at the North Shore Music Theatre Sept 16th-27th. COME FROM AWAY is based on the true story of what happened in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001. When 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers were unexpectedly diverted there, the residents of this isolated community opened their hearts and homes to the stranded travelers.

25 years later, we all remember where we were when the world changed on September 11th.

Sue and Kendra talked with Jason Rude. Jason is an award-winning middle school social studies teacher at New Hampton Middle School in Iowa. Jason has been involved in the 9/11 Memorial & Museum's educational programs for a long time - and has become a vital part in teaching the history and lasting impact of September 11 in his classroom.

Karen Ann Martin was a Danvers native and flight attendant aboard American Airlines Flight 11. Karen was the lead flight attendant that morning, and had the keys to the cockpit. But before she was Flight 11’s lead flight attendant, she was a daughter, a friend, a roommate — and someone who was deeply loved by the people who knew her. Sue and Kendra talked with Courtney Kaplan, who met Karen in flight attendant school and became her roommate and close friend.

Sue and Kendra talked with Dana Leavitt, founder of Leavitt & Co., and co-founder of Creative ChiXX, an educational nonprofit that brings women together to connect, learn, share ideas and grow their businesses. Creative ChiXX is hosting a conference Thursday September 17th designed for female entrepreneurs and small business owners who will come together for inspiration and meaningful networking.
