Meet Michelle DeMartino, a sign language interpreter for our daily broadcast's hearing impaired viewers. She lost both her parents to COVID. Her children will now grow up without knowing their grandparents. She's hoping her story will encourage others to get themselves and their children vaccinated. In her parents’ honor, her children get vaccinated on the show. Dr. Angela Meyers, director of Infectious Diseases at Children's Mercy, also joins.

Actor Erron Jay, living his dream in Hollywood, thought he was sick with COVID-19. He learned quickly, however, that he was in kidney failure. Erron found himself on a transplant list and his search for a living donor brought him back home to the metro and sparked a kidney chain. He joins us with his surgeon and our director of transplantation, Dr. Timothy Schmitt.
