Have you heard the phrase "I don't have time"? Perhaps it's a common phrase you use or seem to hear quite often. Time expands for you when you lead with your heart. Establishing a daily meditation practice might seem counterproductive; yet, those who kickstart their day in an introspective form tend to be more productive, less exhausted, have creative ideas flourish, and get the most of their workout by being in awareness. As a result, time becomes less of a constraint.
Pre-Workout Meditation
Set a timer for 5 minutes. I like Insight timer – it's free, and the alarm sounds are soothing.
If five minutes feels impossible, begin with one minute, increase by thirty seconds each day.
Daily consistency is more powerful and impactful than one thirty-minute meditation per week. Our goal is to condition your mind to everyday moments of stillness and restful alertness.
Let's Begin
Find a quiet space.
Close your eyes.
Take three deep belly breaths to reset your nervous system.
Let your breath do its thing. Don't force it. Sometimes it will be shallow, fast, or slow.
When thoughts arise, gently pause your thoughts by coming back to your mantra.
Set your intention for today: It might be something you want to accomplish.
Silently repeat the Universal So Hum Mantra.
In time you will crave daily meditation just as much as a good workout craving.
Love, Lupe.
Meditation Box: I use Insight Timer to track daily meditation sessions; it's free.
