    Voters in six states will get to weigh in on the Democratic presidential primary campaign Tuesday for the first time since Joe Biden's Super Tuesday surge last week gave him a delegate lead over Bernie Sanders.

  • Iwi cry foul over plans to leave equipment on sea floor
    Taranaki iwi are crying foul over plans for a former contractor to leave production equipment belonging to a failed oil and gas company on the sea floor.
    Last week, iwi groups were asked for feedback from the Environmental Protection Authority which is considering the issue.
    Tamarind Taranaki went into receivership just before Christmas after its $300 million offshore drilling campaign at the Tui oil field failed.
    It owes creditors about $484m.

  • Quit Group deputy chair on cash reserves
    Quit Group, he charity that used to run Quitline, is speaking out after criticism from the Prime Minister down.
    RNZ revealed on Monday that the trust's four board members have continued to receive $18,000 each per year, even though its operations ceased in 2015. The group has more than $3 million in reserves.
    Jacinda Ardern said yesterday the charity should give the money back and shut down, if it does not plan to fulfill its social obligation.

  • Confusion as MPs vote-out safe zones around abortion facilities
    Confusion over the voting in the abortion reform bill has seen MPs vote out safe zones around abortion facilities.
    ACT leader David Seymour's proposal to scrap them was voted for in two parts.
    The first was narrowly voted down 59 votes to 56. But when a vote was called for on a second part, it went through on a verbal vote only, taking MPs by surprise.
