    It says its expected earnings will dropp between $35 million and $75 million due to the outbreak.

    Thousands of people are expected at Parliament today to celebrate RNZ Concert's 87th birthday.
    Plans were made to throw a 'birthday bash' for New Zealand's only classical and jazz station after its existence was threatened with the announcement of a new youth channel.
    Composer, performer and avid supporter of Concert, Claire Cowan, is flying in for the event where performers are promising to make the biggest noise heard in Wellington for some time.

    Former Labour Party candidate Rawiri Waititi says he's "seen the light" and is having another crack at Parliament - this time for the Māori Party.
    Waititi was named yesterday as the party's candidate for Waiariki - the seat that was held by former Māori Party co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell until he was beaten at the last election by Labour's Tamati Coffey.

  • Black Caps aiming for test cricket win against India
    New Zealand are aiming for a rare test cricket win against India when the first test resumes at the Basin Reserve in Wellington today.
    A solid batting effort left the Black Caps with a 183 run lead after the first innings and at stumps last night India was struggling at 144 for four, still 39 runs behind.
    India are the top ranked test team in the world and came into the match as heavy favourites.

  • Bernie Sanders claims victory in Nevada caucuses
    Senator Bernie Sanders scored a crushing win in Nevada yesterday to confirm his status as the clear Democrat front runner to challenge Donald Trump in November's presidential election.
    With around half the precincts reporting, the 78-year-old Mr Sanders had secured nearly 50 percent of votes.
    His nearest rival, former vice-president Joe Biden, was miles behind with less than 20 percent of votes, and third-placed Pete Buttegieg was just over 15 percent.

  • Jacinda Ardern headed to Fiji
    Fjii and Australia are worlds apart when it comes to action on climate change and that will make for selective conversations when Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern heads to both countries this week.
    It's the first time a New Zealand Prime Minister has visited Suva since Sir John Key's trip in 2016.
    While the red carpet will be rolled out in Fiji over the course of days, Jacinda Ardern's visit to Sydney is a one-day flying visit for the annual trans-Tasman bilateral with Scott Morrison.

  • Counting the cost of Covid-19's local impact
    New Zealand's steps to shield itself from the Covid-19 coronavirus will not save the economy from feeling its affects.
    Hundreds of millions of dollars is likely to be shaved off the value of the economy for the first quarter, with estimates currently between 0.3 and 0.6 percentage points less than pre-virus forecasts.
