Gisborne band Ka Hao has collaborated with renowned Maori artist Rob Ruha to produce '35' -  a new track which has soared to number one on Aotearoa's Hot 20 Singles chart.

It's not alone atop a chart which is based on sales, streams and radio play.

Four of the top five tunes are Te Reo Māori waiata.

Indeed, Te Reo Māori releases chalked up 1.3 million streams last week, breaking all previous records.

An Auckland couple's illicit lockdown escape to a holiday home is being described by Wānaka locals as selfish and inexcusable.

The 35-year-old man and his 26 year-old partner crossed Auckland's southern border using essential workers exemptions on Thursday.

They drove to Hamilton before catching a commercial flight to Queenstown via Wellington and renting a car to start their skiing holiday in Wānaka.

But the police were tipped off and the couple were located in Wānaka on Saturday afternoon.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says they will continue to emphasise people going to drive-through clinics as the easiest way to get vaccinations done.

"What we're trying to continue to drive people through, and towards, are things like those drive through clinics, those walk in clinics," she told Morning Report.

"Places where we can do a large number very easily, but without for instance, having to pre-book."

Ardern told Morning Report that using mobile vans to reach into communities is also being built into services.

"Already happening in some areas, it's just how large scale it will be in the future."

She says such an approach has already been used in some cases, such as reaching the homeless.
