The husband of a man who died after his car was hit by a driver who was fleeing from police is still not blaming the police - despite the Independent Police Conduct Authority ruling the pursuit was NOT justified. In its report, the IPAC says the high-speed chase through central Christchurch was poorly managed and should have been called off. Ultimately it led to the death of 64-year-old Kaiapoi man Kenneth McCaul, when the fugitive driver running his eighth red light struck Mr McCaul's car while he was on his way to work. After the votes are tallied on Saturday night, it's all but certain Act's David Seymour will be the leader of a caucus of more than one. Once reliant on a deal with National in Epsom to even make it into parliament, support for Act has surged in recent months - from about three percent when it launched its campaign back in July, to eight percent. But why are more and more voters turning to Act? RNZ's Sarah Robson reports.

A woman who says she was repeatedly rammed down the motorway at 120 kilometres per hour says police have treated it like an everyday traffic accident. Hermione McKeich says the terrifying experience happened with out warning when she was driving south into Wellington on Monday afternoon. She tells RNZ's David Reid that four men in an SUV laughed as they crashed into her small Mazda. Hermione McKeich says she has been contacted by a witness who may be able to provide dash-cam footage. RNZ have contacted the police for a response.

The Bledisloe Cup burst into life with last week's draw in Wellington and Sunday's second test at Eden Park is set to be a blockbuster with the Wallabies full of confidence they can end a 34 year winless streak at the ground. The Australians and their new coach, New Zealander Dave Rennie, have well and truly ruffled the All Blacks feathers, with the hosts taking issue at some Wallabies tactics and vowing to meet fire with fire. The match will be played in front of a bumper crowd with fewer than 5000 of the nearly 48,000 tickets remaining as of last night. RNZ's rugby reporter Joe Porter had this report.
