The whole team hopes these episodes can give you that little bit extra-the tidbits you can't get anywhere else-and that you can really dive into some of the deeper lore and puzzles we've included in the main story too.

We're going to be looking at the community for fans who want to come onto the show too, and be a part of the experience.

Welcome back to our brand new series, Behind The Mortis where we get to talk about all the things that go into making each of our episodes. Each edition of Behind The Mortis will discuss the lore, inspiration, sound design, art direction, and creative direction that went into making the episode.

In this edition we're happy to announce our first guest on the show, Justin, who has been a fan of Mortis Maledictum for two years. He's always there to provide encouragement and really loves digging into the themes and deep lore behind some of the stories. Thank you for joining us on this episode, man. It was great to have you on.

Note: No Justins were harmed in the making of this episode. :D

What happens when the dark celestial beings meet their end? How is the mantle of power transferred, and to whom? The answers are elusive, but if you have been paying attention, you will be getting close to the right questions to ask. Worry not. The threads are weaving together, and the real story begins.

Language is a link through time to read tales long since turned to ash. The Words lost have bound themselves to Quinn O'Connell. There are those that need that lost knowledge, but traps long since laid risk more than just Quinn's sanity. The threads placed in our previous tales are beginning to weave themselves together.

Dreams are best left in the minds of the sleeping. If they were to escape into our world, what nightmares might terrorize those who are unaccustomed to the dark? What truths of the mind and heart might be revealed? What pain and loss might one discover?

Companionship in dark days is important. Just having someone to talk to can help ease the heavy burden of loneliness. But when that voice is stolen from you, what then? Is there anything you wouldn't do to find that connection again, however tenuous? Is there any price you wouldn't pay to read your friend's words on the page of a forbidden text just to know them for a moment longer? That feeling corrupts, and the book brings strength and pain.

Plague, fear, and an ever expanding mass of bodies tend to go hand in hand. They often follow one another everywhere. They say the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and wishing an end to all needless suffering certainly seems like one of the most noble of intentions, does it not? Doctors, priests, science, magic, all of it is a road to an answer but the act of asking the right questions comes at price...

Glory, the mortals cry. Glory for their sons and daughters. Glory for their Husbands and Wives. May kith and kin hold your name on their lips and in their hearts well after your passing... but pass you must. What good is a memory if the only ones who hold it are bound to walk this world for eternity? Even dust blows away but here you must remain, for Glory...

Solve Our Riddle:

A page was ripped out from my tome.

It's title is something to witness,

broke apart and into stillness.

Do not look before you leap,

lest you flee before the deep.
