In this episode of mosaic we hear from young leaders with Federation about their experiences traveling to Budapest, Hungary. While there, they connected with Hungarian leaders, and Israeli leaders who all traveled there to discuss the future of Hungary’s reemerging Jewish community, explored historic sites and learned about the unique position Hungary found itself in during the Holocaust. They visited with Ukrainian refugees at the Budapest JCC and explored a summer camp helping children discover their Jewish identity.

In this episode of mosaic we explore Federation's "living bridge" with Israel, our TZAHAR Partnership Region. For nearly three decades, our partnership with this unique region of Israel has brought Jews from opposite sides of the globe closer together and fostered lasting friendships and understanding. The group traveled to the border of Ukraine and Poland shortly after the war began on a mission organized by Jewish Federations of North America. 

We also will speak with two of our global partner organizations, American-Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and The Jewish Agency for Israel, about how they quickly scaled up relief efforts and how they’re planning for the long term needs of Ukrainian refugees.
