You know about IQ… and your emotional intelligence is EQ. But what about your CQ?
When it comes to overcoming cross-cultural tensions, we’ve been self-diagnosing and guessing at remedies for far too long... Yes, it’s long past time for organizations (like yours) to take a more informed and intentional approach. By first assessing and then improving your team’s CQ, your church or faith-based nonprofit can better walk and work with others of varying cultural backgrounds. Learn more about how CQ training can help your organization understand where it is and how to improve its cultural intelligence on this episode, the Season 1 finale of Mosaix Today with Rachel & Mark.
Tithes and offerings alone are no longer enough to provide for the needs of the local church, enable pastors to pursue opportunities, or sustain long-term ministry impact. Growing financial burdens on the middle class, marginal increases in contributions to religious organizations, shifting generational attitudes toward giving, and changing demographics are having a negative impact on church budgets. Given that someday local churches may be required to pay taxes on the property they own and/or lose the benefit of soliciting tax-deductible gifts, the time to pivot is now. In this episode, Rachel and Mark discuss principles from Mark's seminal work, The Coming Revolution in Church Economics. (Baker Books, 2019)
Think about it.
An American football team is actually composed of three unique teams playing three different games: offense, defense, and special teams. To win a big game, each team must execute separate game plans and play synergistically, with excellence, while at the same time minimizing mistakes.
Similarly, a well balanced approach is needed today in the local church. As head coaches in the game of football, pastors must develop a multifaceted approach: three unique teams playing different games, synergistically - spiritual, social, and financial - in order to effectively advance mission and vision in our complex society.
Join Rachel & Mark in this episode as they break down the disruptive approach.
Since 1998 sociologists have described a “multiracial” church as one having at least 20% diversity in attending membership. But is this quantitative definition rightly the one by which we should describe what pastors more commonly call a multiethnic church?
Recognizing the need for a more robust understanding of what truly constitutes a “healthy” multiethnic church, in 2018 the Mosaix Global Network posited a more robust definition. In this episode, Rachel & Mark break it down, providing a North Star for the journey.
Why should and how can we establish churches that are advancing social justice, compassion, and mercy, in a smart and financially sustainable way? In this episode, Rachel and Mark discuss the need for pastors to establish an "umbrella non-profit" alongside (in addition to) their multiethnic church, as if two sisters in the same house. as well as their belief that justice is not peripheral but intrinsic to the Gospel.
On this episode, Rachel Gilmore & Mark DeYmaz discuss the theological moorings for the multiethnic church and three key, New Testament passages upon which it can and should be established. Learn how to better articulate the biblical mandate to others in a clear, concise, and compelling way.
