Torah Teaching for Vayeshev 2020. In this portion we see the destructive nature of worldly thinking and the end result of pushing away of God's words through the prophetic. Ya'akov and his family suffered because they did not trust Yosef's words from God. Israel did worse and was completely destroyed because they didn't listen to the prophets. God will work out His will. We have to decide if we will be part of it and stand strong for our faith. God may have to find someone else to do His work if we won't do it. Through the prophetic, God saved a whole region from disaster; God was able to do that because Yosef was willing to stand for God, do what is right, and be bold enough to trust in what God told him. 

Torah Teaching for Vayishlach 2020. God works out everything for Ya’akov. It is really amazing. It seems like Ya’akov is in trouble at times, but everything just keeps working out for him. Shaul tells us in Romans that God is able to work out everything; perhaps He was thinking of Ya’akov, but most certainly, God is in control and even if things don’t seem to work out at times, our good God can restore us even as He has done so for believers in the past. God is good and His commandments are good. God has good intentions for us, so stay faithful and don’t be tricked by people who don’t understand the Bible properly. God is for us just like God was for Ya’akov. Shaul says in Romans 8:31 NKJV, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” If we do our part, God will do His part.

Vayishlach accompanying teaching for 2020. We need people who are willing to take a stand and show the world a better way. We each can personally experience the goodness of God. Just think though; what if we could help just one other person know the truth about God and life. Can we – at least try – to get others to start understanding some of the truth? What if a million people just tried to help one person each. We could end up with two million who are trying to live holy lives, do what is right, be lights to the world, and make the world a better place to live. It all starts with us; are we willing to trust God and be blessed by God? I've been blessed and you can too. We also then can have the exciting opportunity to try to help someone else understand a better way of life.

Accompanying Teaching to the Torah Teaching Vayetzei 2020.  Ya'akov makes an agreement with God and asks for His protection. How many of us have made agreements with God and need to keep what we've said. God indeed protects Ya'akov and God does bring him back safely to the land of Canaan that God promised him. Perhaps as God had Ya'akov return to the land of promise, God has always desired that we turn toward Him and His light and truth, and be His people of promise. Some though make worldly things more of an issue than spiritual things. Set your heart on God. Ya'akov trusted in God and God blessed him exceedingly. God is big enough to keep His promises to us and to bring us into His future kingdom if we will be obedient to Him. Seek God; nothing matters more than a relationship with God. 

07 Vayetzei Torah Teaching. Ya'akov sees Yĕ-hō-váh and angels going up and down a ladder in a dream. All the patriarchs saw God. This was a special encounter for Ya'akov and he works out an agreement with God. God is with Ya'akov and favors him even though Lavan tries to steal his wealth. Lavan deludes himself into thinking everything was his. God tells Ya'akov to go back to Canaan and he returns with all his belongings and family. God worked out everything for Ya'akov and God can work out things for us because He is God. Trust in God. King David sings a song of praise about trusting in God. Psalm 28:7 NKJV says, "The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him."

Toldot 2020 Torah Teachings for this parashah. In this portion, God healed Rivkah and she was able to conceive two children. Yitzchak didn’t listen to his wife about Ya’akov being the child of promise so Rivkah took matters in her own hands and fooled Yitzchak so he would give the blessing to Ya’akov. Ya’akov chooses to leave rather than confront Esav. Esav is a worldly person and wants to kill Ya’akov. We will see that God worked everything out in spite of Yitzchak’s shortcomings. Esav is an example of someone who is worldly minded and Ya’akov is an example of someone who is spiritually minded. Ya’akov continued to be faithful to God and God blessed Ya’akov tremendously for his faithfulness to God.

Toldot 2020 - Seek God's Blessing and Be at Peace; an teaching to accompany the Torah teaching. Having a worldly view keeps us from living in the blessings that God wants for us. Yitz’chak prayed for Rivkah’s healing and they had Ya’akov and Esav. Walk in the power of God and live above what is earthly. God blessed Ya'akov exceedingly for his faithfulness.1 Have a spiritually minded presence. Keep your heart and mind and keep your peace. God can and will finish His work for this world and for you; be content and continue to live the way you should.

1Note that Ya'akov was led by God. He is an example for those who have the gift of the Holy Spirit. Use what God has given us. 

Torah study for Chayei Sarah for 2020. In the Torah portion we see Abraham sticking to what God told him to do about Yitz’chak being the heir of promise. Although men may think that they are the ones who are in power and they are the ones that know how to procure power, it was God who ultimately chose the line of people who would bless the earth and who would be the Messiah, namely Yeshua our Messiah. Abraham gave his life to serve the true God and God gave him a blessed life; his life was not without trials, but he stood strong and through Abraham, the entire world has been blessed tremendously. We also can be a people who give our lives to God and bless this world. Never minimize your contribution as a follower of the creator God and our Messiah Yeshua. 

Teaching to accompany the Torah portion Chayei Sara for 2020.  God is there in all of life’s situations and we can have the powerful work of the Holy Spirit in our every day life. Mankind does things their way, but we have a big God and we can trust in Him; so do things His way. We are to desire God’s good work of the Holy Spirit which leads us and helps us; the Holy Spirit helps us live in peace, kindness and gentleness; and the Holy Spirit can and will do so much more than we imagine. Through the Holy Spirit, God can  orchestrate His intentions and fulfill what He wills to accomplish. Just as He accomplished what He desired for Abraham who trusted in God, He will also accomplish and orchestrate His intentions through us; so be strong and trust in God.  

Teaching to accompany the Torah teaching Vayera 2020. God is the almighty and powerful God who can do all. Mankind must develop themselves in order to accomplish their tasks. We can have joy in knowing we have a good God who is for us. Are we serious about God? Do we respect Him and want to do what He says? Yochanan said that those who don’t keep the Torah are of the devil. The life God intended for us comes only through God; that is the true reality for life.
