  • What to Expect When You're Expecting...Judgment Day! End Times Chapters 4-5

What to Expect When You're Expecting...Judgment Day!  End Times Chapters 4-5

    ---------------------------------
The End Times are here. Jesus has told us this truth and he encourages us to be ready for his imminent return. So how do we do that? How do we know what to expect as we live in these times? God has some words for us and he answers some of our questions pertaining to the second coming of Christ. Join us to explore this topic and review what our God has to say to us in his holy Word about the End Times.

Join us in reading through the book End Times from the People's Bible Teaching Series.  A limited number of copies of the book are available for purchase from Grace at a discounted rate. Otherwise you can obtain a copy from Northwestern Publishing House by clicking here.

We will use the following schedule to read through the book:

    Chapters 1-3 (11/8)
    Chapters 4-5 (11/15)
    Chapter 6 (11/22)
    Chapters 7-9 (11/29)
    Chapters 10 and 11 (12/6)
    Chapters 12-13 (12/13)
    Chapters 14-16 (12/20)
    Chapters 17-19 (1/3)

We hope that you can join us for the fun and that you can grow along with us.  If you have any questions about this book or Most Certainly True Podcast, please reach out to Pastor Hackmann at [email protected].  If you’d like to learn more about Grace Lutheran Church, check out our website www.gracedowntown.org.

  • Here We Stand: Formula of Concord

Here We Stand: Formula of Concord
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

"What does it mean to be a Lutheran? "  Have you ever been asked that question?   It means  that we believe that we are saved by Grace Alone (it's all because of  the undeserved love of Jesus), through Faith Alone (We don't work to achieve salvation), on the basis of Scripture Alone (We have no other authority, except the Word of God).  And all this is ours In Christ Alone.

To be a Lutheran means to believe as Martin Luther believed and teach as he taught.  It means to stand with him on a bold confession of faith and to subscribe to the Book of Concord - because it is faithful to the Word of God.

Join us  through this Here We Stand series  to better understand the Lutheran Confessions and the history into which they were written.  We'll explore the context of each of the writings of the Book of Concord and share some insights to help us better understand and appreciate them.  So whether you are an avid reader of the Book of Concord or have never cracked one open, this series is for you.

Would you like to own your own copy of the Book of Concord?  It's an inexpensive way to have these beautiful Lutheran writings at your fingertips and use them educationally and devotionally.  Below are links to two different versions that we are recommending.

Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions - A Reader's Edition of the Book of Concord
Book of Concord : Kolb Wengert Edition
