Publisher's Summary:
This book is a practical guide to happiness. For those who are familiar with Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now, but don't know how to get there, this book is for you. Through self-inquiry and meditation, as similarly taught by Ramana Maharshi, Gary Weber, and more, you can eliminate anxiety, depression, anger, and enter in the present, happy and content.
There has been a lot of research on transcendental meditation in recent years. New scientific studies using FMRIs have advanced the field of neuroscience. Self-inquiry has been shown to boost dopamine and opioid levels in the body, creating happiness that won't fade with time. Throughout the book, Unclog Your Happiness, these studies are cited to provide both proof and further material.
Meditation through self-inquiry works by removing labels that we have attached to ourselves. These labels are self-limiting beliefs, causing our unhappiness. Depression, anxiety, loneliness, anger, and more can be removed just by stopping the process of labeling.
Members Reviews:
Thorough, informative, and motivating
As someone who considers himself well-versed in different meditation techniques and exploring new ones, Unclog Your Happiness shares a good modern perspective on these concepts and I've learned a lot about communication by how it's explained. It's nothing too complicated yet it's far from simple--it's written in terms that anyone can relate to despite what they attach their own identity to. The self-inquiry exercises are great to get your head into "self-awareness" mode that carries over into life long after you're finished reading.
I recommend this book as either an introduction to meditation/mindfulness, a tool to get re-inspired, and as well a way to expand your own knowledge. Happy unclogging!
A Life-Changing Book
For someone who puts in a lot of office hours, I certainly have had my share of stress. From dealing with impossible deadlines, to colleagues who arenât doing their job right, I have had a lot of problems to think about. Or so I thought.
Learning that I didnât need or benefit from thinking about my problems has been transformative. I am a better and happier manager because of it.
... said - you must live first to write it better. This book is testament of that saying
A famous writer had said - you must live first to write it better. This book is testament of that saying. It is a book of finding happiness through meditation, self-discovery and positive thinking. It not only tells what to do but also shows how to do it and readers can easily learn and follow up with clearly shown examples. Highly recommended.
MORE THAN A BOOK -- A TRULY LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE. I HOPE YOU READ IT.
David Ring shares his hard-earned insights on how to finally wake up from the hypnotic deep sleep-like trance most of us find ourselves trapped in by our minds. It's not always an easy road out of the dream, but it's a journey well worth taking. The author marks out the path and helps you navigate and overcome the stumbling blocks to your eventual enlightenment and non-duality. His unique observations and wisdom are a true godsend. This book has definitely made a significant, positive change in my life. I also bought a copy for my 80-year-old sister and she is already half-way through it.
