An Excellent Prayer Resource

This is one of those books I think every serious Christian should read! It's a well structured, thoughtfully written guide for praying for 30 different aspects of world missions - many of them aspects that people don't normally think of. Each day's section is fairly brief (most just a couple of pages long) but to the point, including an explanation of the issue to pray for, a Bible verse, and several specific suggestions for prayer. Many of them also include interesting examples or stories from the mission field that relate to the subject at hand.

If you've ever prayed for a missionary and felt unsure what to say besides, "Lord, protect them and bless their ministry," then this book is for you. As a missionary and missionary kid myself, I can attest that the prayer needs mentioned here are all legitimate and critical, and many of them are often neglected. I would love for everyone who supports a missionary or cares about missions to have access to this book. Highly recommended!

Excellent Prayer for Missions Guide

If you've ever had a heart for world missions-- and it's my personal opinion that all Christians should focus on world missions in accordance with the Great Commission (Go ye therefore into all the world ... Mark 16:14) -- then in this short book Alana Terry gifts you with excellent starting points. It gives you 30 different ways to pray for world missions and world missionaries and backs each day's prayer points with the "whys" for each as well as Scriptural support. When you've completed the 30 days, you can just start over again. And keep going. Her prayer points and the biblical backdrop for each are clearly and concisely presented. I'm delighted that I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. I've been using it to guide my own prayers from the day I received it. Highly recommended. Get the book; you'll be glad you did. While you're at it, check out her fiction as well. Her books will touch your heart and your spirit.

I'm no expert on this subject and still reading it, but it is a fantastic short read on how the secular came to be, through St Augustine, a necessary space for negotiating the plurality of human identity.
