Die Erotikparts lassen die eigentlich spannende Lovestory etwas langatmig wirken
Wie gemein, an der spannendsten Stelle ist das Buch zuende. Ein cleverer Cliffhanger, der neugierig auf die Fortsetzung macht, keine Frage.
Ich verirre mich normalerweise nicht allzu oft in die Erotikliteratur, weil es für mich dort meist zu sehr um das Eine geht und die eigentliche Story zu kurz kommt, aber zwischendurch darf es dann schon Mal das ein oder andere prickelnde Büchlein geben.
Die heißen Szenen sind auch in diesem Buch sehr dominant und ausführlich beschrieben. Das ist ja auch nichts Schlimmes, allerdings kommt mir die Story so doch stellenweise etwas langatmig vor, da ich Averys und Nicks geheimnisvolle, dunkle Vergangenheiten einfach spannender finde. Das ist wahrscheinlich auch eher eine Geschmacksfrage. Eventuell kommt mir das auch mit dadurch so vor, weil gerade diese Szenen so überspitzt dargestellt sind und irgendwie unnatürlich rüberkommen, einfach so klischeehaft wirken: Nick ist natürlich megareich, optisch absolut perfekt und zum Anbeißen, überaus gut bestückt, ein Kontrollfreak, besitzergreifend, schnell eifersüchtig und hat in der Vergangenheit irgendetwas Traumatisches erlebt, was nur Avery zu heilen vermag. Diesen Typ Mann findet man seit 50 Shades of Grey zur Genüge und so oft wie er mit Avery ins Bett hüpft und sie sich gegenseitg einen Höhepunkt nach dem anderen bescheren, da musste ich schon des Öfteren die Augen verdrehen. Vor allem auch ein wenig gestört hat mich, dass es bei den beiden schon so früh richtig zur Sache ging, so gefühlt eine Stunde, wenn überhaupt, gekannt, und schon flüstert er ihr schmutzige Worte ins Ohr und sie verschwinden für Stunden in seinem Penthouse. Nun gut, das war der Teil, der mir nicht so zugesagt hat.
Gefallen hat mir, dass nicht nur Nick psychisch angeknackst ist, sondern auch Avery eine Menge durchgemacht hat, das sie vehement versucht zu verbergen. Da die Story aus ihrer Sicht erzählt wird (3. Person), bekommt man durch immer wieder eingestreute Andeutungen einen Einblick in ihre schlimme Vergangenheit. Gerade diese Informationsschnippsel konnten mich fesseln. Ich wollte unbedingt hinter ihre Fassade blicken und mit ihr gemeinsam auch Nicks Geschichte ergründen, die in diesem ersten Band noch sehr nebulös bleibt. Dadurch, dass beide so schlimme Dinge erlebt haben, stehen sie irgendwie mehr auf einer Stufe. Avery ist auch darum bemüht, Nick nicht die volle Kontrolle zu überlassen.
