    Alison Arnoff’s Dare2Be Story

"What I enjoyed most throughout my 25 years in the tech industry was being able to take what I learned and sharing it with others to solve problems, to bring about positive outcomes that helped companies succeed and grow. It was this desire to serve that led me to coaching. With my tech background and engineering education, I knew that coaching in the tech industry would be the most natural fit for me. I’d still be working in an environment I found stimulating and I’d be at home with my peeps who would more readily believe that I understood where they were coming from. I also needed interaction with the type of high performers I’d know in both tech and my years as a sports competitor. So the idea of Dare2Be started to coalesce, but it took a tragic wake-up call to get me to seek out the life I was meant to lead.

A few years ago, after the loss of my father, I needed to step away from work. I wasn’t doing a good job for the company or myself. Healing included reconnecting with my inner self for a month in the jungles of Belize and Guatemala.  When I returned, I was at a crossroads. I realized I was not living my values. I was going through the motions – being successful at a well-paying job. But there was little joy and lots of stress and no personal fulfillment. I needed to make a change. To pay the bills, I built a small consulting practice while I returned to school to finally realize my dream of becoming a coach.

In my life, I have experienced what many of my clients are going through -- the need to complete my journey on my own terms, holding true to my values, testing myself to see if I’m up to a new challenge and leaving a positive legacy. Fortunately, I had coaching help. Now my mission is to coach others through the same turning points I experienced. And though we’re all different, many of our basic needs are the same: support, encouragement, validation. We all need to be championed and challenged, to be accountable in creating the best possible version of ourselves. We need to be inspired to Dare2Be."

    Dare2Be Better. Dare2Be More. Dare2Be Coached.

  • #34 | Robert Riggs

    Sharing Stories! #Heedit

    Guest: Robert Riggs

The True Crime Reporter™ never settles for standing outside the yellow crime scene tape.

You knock on doors. You dig through records. And you cultivate sources.

Riggs taps into three decades of criminal cases from his career as an investigative reporter and committee investigator in the U.S. Congress.

In every episode, Riggs pulls out his reporter’s notebooks. His law enforcement sources open up their case files. And they take listeners on a journey into darkness.

During his television news career, Riggs received the George Foster Peabody Award for investigative reporting and three Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Journalism Awards for Investigative Reporting.

Riggs’ stories impacted millions of people during thousands of hours of reporting on television and in online media.  During some assignments, his reporting literally occurred under fire while he was embedded with the U.S. Army during the invasion of Iraq.

Among the three Alfred I. duPont Columbia Journalism Awards for Investigative Reporting, judges described his Gulf War report about the censorship of religious services for U.S. soldiers, “as the story every other news organization missed.”

Riggs journalistic ethos is to illuminate important public issues, right wrongs, speak truth to power, change flawed public policy, and in some cases save people from harm by violent criminals. Serial killers were caught and terrorist networks exposed. Corrupt public officials did time in federal prison behind his reporting.

Riggs is a member of the FBI’s North Texas Chapter of InfraGard which was formed in response to the 9/11 terror attacks. He is a longtime member of the Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE). It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving investigative reporting around the world.

    Journalism Experience

During his broadcast news career, Riggs covered the White House, Capitol Hill, The Pentagon, New York State Legislature, and the Texas Legislature.

He reported from the “eye of the storm” at the scene breaking news stories of historical proportions including the mass murder at a Luby’s Cafeteria in Texas, the 51-day Branch Davidian siege in Waco, the Oklahoma City bombing, the siege by Republic of Texas separatists, and three wars.

His reports appeared on WFAA-TV Channel 8 News, KTVT-TV CBS-11, CBS Evening News, CBS 60 Minutes, ABC Nightline, CNN, and ESPN.

    Journalism Awards

Riggs’ peers in journalism recognized him as one of the nation’s premier investigative reporters. He received the coveted George Foster Peabody Award for Investigative Reporting and three Alfred I. duPont Columbia University Journalism Awards for Investigative Reporting.

The Dallas Crime Commission awarded its first-ever “Excellence in Crime Reporting Award” to Riggs in 1999. His series of reports uncovered how black tar heroin traffickers from Mexico preyed on teenagers in Plano, Texas. Dozens of teens suffered deadly overdoses unaware that the “Chiva” they were taking was heroin.

We ran out of room, but you get it... Robert is extraordinary!

  • #33 | Ashley Puckett

    Sharing Stories! #Heedit

    Guest: ASHLEY PUCKETT

Ashley Puckett was born and raised in North Huntingdon, just east of Pittsburgh,   Pennsylvania.  Ashley realized her passion for music at a young age, performing at vocal competitions and community events, and eventually, landing at open-mic nights and shows in bars and clubs, doing anything to keep the music and her passion alive.  Her musical influences have been empowering..shaping the artist she has become: Ladies like Lee Ann Womack, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Jo Dee Messina, Carol King and LeAnn Rimes.  At age sixteen Ashley picked up the guitar, began writing songs, and the adventurous country girl hit the road.

Somewhere between skydiving and bungee jumping, Ashley was introduced to world class Singer/Songwriter/Producer, Bryan Cole and Lead Sound Engineer, Doug Kasper at Tonic Studios.  With legendary musicians Mike Brignardello (bass), John Willis (banjo), Mike Johnson (Steel Guitar), Heidi Engel and Tammy Petty ( Background Vocals) and hot newcomer, Adam Ernst, Ashley’s debut album and lifelong dream, “Never Say Never” was made a reality. The album will be released on MTS Records on February 14, 2020, with first single, “Medicine” having been released in August 2019.  The single charted nationally on the IndieWorld Country Record Report and Airplay Today country charts.

New single, “Bulletproof” was released on January 9th, 2020, Ashley’s birthday. The song raced to the top of the iTunes country singles chart in South Africa, also becoming a #1 radio hit on the New Music Weekly country chart.

"I've never given up on where I wanted to be (in the music industry), however, when life pulls you in so many different directions, it sometimes takes you off-guard, and it becomes very easy to lose sight.  I believe everything happens for a reason, and although I feel I'm always at the wrong place at the wrong time, somehow that led me to the right place at the right time, to say ‘It's now or never’ after meeting Bryan and Doug.  The energy the three of us have, working together, and their dedication is so exciting...I know this is just the beginning of something spectacular."
